  • The instructor is pretty accurate. It will be ground control that will give you the clearance to cross runways to reach your departing runway. HOWEVER,ground must gain tower approval first before allowing the aircraft to taxi across the runway. So if you do get cleared to taxi across an active runway, that would mean he has already talked to the tower and got approval.

  • Good lesson, Nice teacher BUT your baiting them to make a terrible mistake. " A clearance to taxi, is a clearance to cross all taxiways and runways to get to your assigned runway, not on, just to." That is correct but misleading wording, because what if my taxi route requires me to cross my assigned runway midfield to get to another taxiway. NOT ALLOWED!!! Not sure wording is clear on that. How about- "Cross all taxiways and runways EXCEPT for the assigned runway at any point!" BR-ATC @ RDU

  • @briantroth80 The man clearly sais: "get to, not on the assigned runway." If you're crossing your assigned runway you're on it. Therefore I think he is perfectly clear.

  • this guy has some very cool ground session videos
