Niiice! But I got to say, that 1098 didn't sound as loud as I thought it would. I've got Termi's on my 848 and it's loud as fuck ^^
Eitherway, all three bikes make amazing sounds. I remember when I came back from the Assen TT last year, a 916 with full Termi's was riding next to me on the highway and I almost got deaf from the sound =P Daaamn!
It seems the 916 and 996 make more noise then the new bikes do =P
I have had a 998 and now I have a 999S F1 (my stock evolution). I think the best sound is still the 998 54mm exhaust. But I can guarantee you that when I'm opening wide the throttle on the Monza's circuit straights people in the tribunes on the other side of the circuit can clearly hear me very well!
nevermind, I'm retarded and don't pay attention. I'm wrong, but right in a way? lol you're saying in the manual they are called 90 degree V-twins, but really a 90 degree angle is an L. I understand.
no mate, haven't ridden a 999 or 749. Wouldn't mind though. They are bloody awesome looking machines. there is a 999S for sale at the bike shop near my house but i've already got 2 Dukes and i'm not going to sell 1 to get the 999. I love the look of them, but it would kind of slow compared to my Streetfighter S or my 1098R Bayliss. I wouldn't mind sticking the Bayliss on a boat to get it shipped over to NZ for some riding through the many hills over there.
@vtwin1000cc i've got 2 Ducati's and in the manual for both bikes it refers to the engine as a 90degree "L" twin. So i'm not which manual you are reading.
@bradlez996 well let me ask you this then what would 99% of the population consider a ducati to be ? having looked at my manual i do stand corrected but in my defense though what does 99% of the population of the world consider a ducati to be a v-twin or L-twin?. Suzuki and Honda surely refer to their 90 degree motors as a vtwin. Anyways why are we worrying about technicalities when we really should be admiring the fun it is to be riding one of them.
@vtwin1000cc well alot of people probably think of a Harley when someone says V-Twin, so i guess Ducati like to distance themselves from those pieces of shit by saying L-Twin. I understand that other brands are happy to say 90degree V-twin considering my first bike was RGV250, which is the same configuration.
@bradlez996 LOLOL love the comment on the harleys!! i completely agree with you in fact i sold my 01 aprilia rsv as i felt that they had a little too much in common with a harley being a rotax engine and all. tell me have you ever ridden a 999? or 749? a mate wants to buy my 996 i might get a 999 never ridden one. keen to get feedback. is a 999 really that much better than the 996 series? nice posting bradle, you would do well in new zealand with your attitude towards those lawnmowers on wheels
@vtwin1000cc And i also understand by your profile name that you enjoy the experience of riding a performance V-twin or L-twin, so like you said, regardless of the argument, lets enjoy riding like crazy fuckers and annoying all those other people that couldnt afford what we have.
@vtwin1000cc i've got 2 Ducati's and in the manual for both bikes it refers to the engine as a 90degree "L" twin. So i'm not sure which manual you are reading.
I'm saving up for a superbike for next year and just when I find myself flitting between a Fireblade and an R1, I listen to videos like this and fall in love with that Ducati sound.
which one of the three bikes stopped to pick up the camera at the end of the clip, it sounded so beautiful as it slowed down. no other bike sounds as good as a ducati.
Very nice, thanks for the effort. Miss the incredible and mighty 999S here though, the one with the big valves. Will we see a 999 in one of your future Ducati movie releases?

@h8ascooter ducati isn't a v-twin. they are L-twin but you were close :)
THEBADDESTBUGOWNER 1 year ago
actually in the user manual it refers to the motor as a v-twin, a 90 degree v-twin
if you like you can refer to it as an L-twin as it is a 90 degree angle, harley v-45
aprilia v-60 ducati v90.quite simple really, but then again you were also close
