While I thought that F40PH's looked "ok" in the '80's, the introduction of the Genesis and many of the other electic passenger engines have really made the F40PH a classic. I miss them.
as i understand it all AMTRAK F40PH's have been turned into cabages (cab/baggage cars). But all other RR companys that own F40PH's still have then running yes? Plz correct me if im wrong.
@97warpath Last I checked Amtrak had a few in storage but they have been moved to beech grove to have something done to them, maybe just another baggage car conversion or maybe restoring them. There is a list of all Amtrak F40's and what there condition is on wwwf40phorg

NJT uses them, as does Metro North, the MBTA, Virginia Railway Express, Metra (I think, theirs are slated for replacement), Caltrain and many other smaller regional commuter lines. Metro North's 7 engines are in the process of being rebuilt for another 15-20 years of service on the Port Jervis branch.
