You're right and the Death Certificates recorded the names of 68,864 individuals, who died at Auschwitz (Birkenau), of whom about 30,000 were listed as Jews. The Official Death books corroborates this & indicates 30,000 jews, 32,000 catholics, 2,500 Eastern Orthodox, 1,000 Greek catholics and 2,300 protestants.
I just watched a CNN special on diabetes centered around a survivor at this camp (now 84) who said he received insulin. He talked about the day he and the others were freed, then it cut to allied footage of them walking out of the camp. All appeared reasonably well, steady on their feet, lean and clear-eyed. WTF is up?
