if you like this stuff, I recommend watching some Farbrausch computer demos - very similar effect, except decidedly more abstract and less contextual imagery involved - and it's not focused on recreating the hallucinations of the mind as much as exploring the possibilities of computer rendering.

if you close your eyes, your mind's eye will literally paint vivid imagery like this. if your imagination is already pretty intense, you might be able to create something like this, but generally "sober" art is more grounded in reality.

i've never seen reality (ie actual physical surroundings) completely change into something this chaotic, but i've seen walls melt, faces in plaster ceilings, and shifting patterns in wood grains

there's a video called Acid Trip with a guy looking in a mirror as his face distorts in various ways. the images AND the sound (i always emphasize the sound, maybe because i'm a musician) are very close to what you'd experience during an actual trip. the only thing missing is the fucked-up thoughts you have while on the shit.

if you're a musician and have ever done acid, you suddenly understand where frank zappa got inspiration for his instrumentals. you don't know why; you just do

if you're trying this with your band, it's good to keep instruments nearby. sometimes just sitting around high isn't that fun, and could turn into a rocky trip. jamming on shrooms is fun as hell. i've never tried jamming on acid, but hey, it worked for jimi hendrix.

i've fallen away from a lot of the hard drugs, but i'll always remember the experience. pot & shrooms are all i need anymore. if you've never tried shroms, i'd say try them first, but to each their own

i've already been corrected on this. i related his more experimental music to what i personally experienced on acid, and was surprised to learn he never did drugs, labelling users as "assholes in action" (and i can understand why; people are disturbing when they're high on anything other than pot, and even that can be sketchy).

This video is composed of hundreds of separate illustrations that are played one after the other at superfast speeds- which makes it appear as if the video is in motion.
