Straight from eds mouth.. He failed to mention that The Halen bros made Michael Anthony sign some contract stating he was not a member of Van Halen just playin on the tour. @glutamine001 the reaction from his fans really hurt his feelings....he put more into this album than the first 6 original albums put together....Ed wrote ALL the music and co wrote some of the lyrics with Gary.....Michael Anthony contributed nothing but playing bass on 3 tracks...it was basically an Ed solo album....that came straight from Eds mouth...

In my mind, this is one of the best songs that EVH wrote and composed. What a fusion of jazz and rock, not to mention other genres. This song is totally unique in many ways and should be considered amongst the top 10 of the bands' all time hits ;-0 Just saying is all ;-)

Gary sounded very good on this video guys. Great song. Great riff in A minor ala Stairway to Heaven. I'd venture to guess that the live shows with Gary were probably pretty darn good considering his voice is part Sammy and part Dave.

This song kicks ass, period. Gary wasn't given a fair chance in this version on VH. I'm sure, in a private moment, Eddie would say the same thing. Gary is a great singer with a range better than Sam or Dave. It's a shame they didn't make at least one more album together.

People complain about this album but what they fail to realize is they did things very different than all other albums. From interviews I've seen and read with Eddie, they approached the writing very different. In the past Eddie would write and the lyrics came after. On this Eddie wrote music to the lyrics Cherone provided because he was inspired by the material Cherone provided.

I don't know why some people complain about the van halen III album. This song, along with fire in the hole, without you and from afar, is one of the best ever made by van halen...
