The original line is supposed to be "LORD FRIEZA!" Vegeta was written as a brilliant tactician and he remains one. It's just that the English dub conveniently ignored that. Frieza's presence would be the only practical thing that would legitimately distract Vegeta.

One of The biggest mistakes this series made was making Vegeta a good guy. As great a character as he was he was never the same after Namek. He became unfocused on his goals and was just a shell of himself after that. I don't think the original author intended him to live long in the series (hence the short and stocky version, he sports right now, compared to the muscle bound hero he becomes) . But since he was so popular he stayed. He should have been killed off on Namek or earlier.

@aaronfrazer Sorry, but i would have to disagree. I liked how he changed into a "good guy" because it was fun watching him, throughout the series, slowly becoming the good guy. He is like the only character that has character development in terms of personality, and that's what separates him from the others.  I dont think he became unfocused on his goals, but that his goals have changed, along with his perspective and personality :3 its why hes soo badass x)

Ocean was the first English dub I watched. I think Chris Sabat did excellent work as Vegeta in his transition from being evil to good. For me, Brian Drummond will always be THE voice for evil Vegeta.

@drybowserman9091 Not quite. Vegeta was at 18,000 pre goku fight, and cui was said to be nearly as strong ('Either way, vegeta is not likely to escape unscathed' was what zarbon said when he sent cui to intercept him). Post goku fight, he was at 23-28,000.

A 50% power advantage is usually enough to win a toe to toe fight, never mind when the opponent drops his guard and runs, like dumbass here did. Cui also wasted a whole bunch of ki in bombarding the environment, which put him at further risk.

There's another case where freeza when fighting krillin calls him "amigo" and then when he impales him he says "giddyup ride'em cowboy yeehaw!" (uncut version). Those are very Earthly things too. This show isn't very accurate in that sense and not meant to be.
