@tubernation1 Gliders are actually a very good example of modern aerodynamics. Although it seems counter intuitive, thin long wings and long slender fuselages are optimal. Fast military fighers only look different because they have to deal with the drag associated with flying supersonic, requiring a totally different approach to design.

@MSargeNZ Modern fighters are also designed with maneuverability in mind. Most modern fighters are not very aerodynamic and would be almost impossible to fly without the aid of on-board computers.
