i LOVE this video - xD a perfect demonstration of how to and how to not use a string trimmer. but one problem and im sure it isnt your fault, i think the gear head needs to be looked at.. it sounds like its grinding. is it possible to oil it? or is that whining noise the string?

i start mine the way u said not with the shaft down on the ground but mine has a clutch so it wont spin when u pull it and when it starts only when u give it gas
