What I don't understand is this: why redo the clone wars from 2d to 3d? I want to see what happens after episode 3 up to episode 4 with the original actor's voices. The 3d version was actually thought of after the release of SW:2. GL wanted to make this mainly 'couse he started out with animation back in the day and the technique had catched up so it was doable as he wanted it to be.
There is gonna be a live action series in 2010ish or so. Said to be around 400 episodes dealing with stuff between ep 3 and 4. But its said not to deal with the main chars. More of whats going around, around them.

I was surprised by the mediocre reviews The Clone Wars recieved by critics following the movie's release but after watching the movie myself, I feel The Clone Wars would've had a much more positive reception had it been aired as part of the new animated series rather than being used as a promotion for the show because the movie itself is an entertaining, fun ride and should've been broken into at least three half an hour episodes along with the rest of the series.

I think George Lucas has made some good decisions with this one. The movie itself felt like a TV show, but was still great to watch. I loved it, but my friend said it needed more of the clones and less on the jedi. I also thought the ships, droids and especially the clones were animated nicely. Overall, a great way to start a new series and expose the world to great Star Wars again.

George Lucas didn't direct this, nor did he really have that much to do with it. It's ridiculous for people to hate on this 'film' (which is really just 3 episodes from the new series put together) and compare it to live-action films.

The figure style was fine as a cartoon, and the cartoon rocked, but as an animation it looks horrible. Just look at 0:38. I think the vehicles, clone troopers, and droids look fine, but I wish this was a 2-d cartoon, not an animation. Am I the only one thinking this?
It would have been interesting to make a movie that took place between Star Wars (IV) and Empire Strikes Back (V). George Lucas wouldn't have had to worry about the age of the actors, and could have revisited the Star Wars era we all REALLY like. Classic Star Wars seems to be the smart choice in animation, because it's the only way to go back to those characters. Also, I fully understand there is a particular style they were shooting for, but Pixar kicks their ass in the animation department!
now hold on...the acting in episodes 2 and 3 were not that bad...natalie portman and ewan mc gregor, and whoever count dooku is, are all pretty good actors...an not to mention palpatine, he is a very good actor, and hayden isn't as bad as everyone says he is in my opinion

I mean, look at the hair,, compared to the eyes. People's body movements were not well animated either. I did like the droid's dialogue though. and the nintey minutes seemed much longer. There were kids next to me asking how long the movie is. but i may be being harsh. however i don't think they should go through with the cartoon series.

I liked this movie. though the animiation isen't the best. but the Droids have a couple of fun lines. the movie it self i'd rather see live actors then animated but the figthing and Clones- Droids are just as the I,II and III animated so that's ok but please for the love of god do it with live actors. there are some boring lines and scenes but well this is one action packed movie. but be warned you get diseponted by the animated pepole. if they've used real i'd say 6 but as it is animated 4-5
I found that this movie was better then the other prequels. Though given the movie was geared more towards children it was more tasteful in that you're not ripping out your hair like many were with Jar Jar. I found that the animation seemed off at first but quickly grows on you as well. I say watch the movie since it's actually good and I hope they continue these kinds of movies with other EU content.
i honestly thought this star wars movie was a catastrophe. the plot was terrible (especially the end), the dialogue was terrible ("sky guy" = GAY), some of the characters didn't seem to fit (Jabba's uncle who sounded like an old woman), and the new jedi girl was very annoying throughout the movie. the only good thing that came out of this movie was the action, but obviously lucas intended this movie to be for kids. basically, there were a lot of face-palm moments throughout the film. be warned.
I have not see the movie yet, but I'm late on seeing films recently. I just got around to seeing The Dark Knight. But any way this seems to be another mixed review situation, kinda like when the last Indy movie came out. some love it some hate it. I just wish people would give Lucas a break (all the haters) There are Star wars fans who are glad he is still trying to give us something.

1. No story. No one like the hutts, why do we wanna see a movie about saving jabbas son. If you saw the other movies then you hate jabba.

3. short
4. no closure

I only have three complaints:
1. instead of subtitles for Jabba, we get an annoying translator droid. (you'd think jedi could speak huttese)
2. There were too many kids in the theater who would NEVER shut up.
3. The character Ashoka Teno, in general. I'm happy she'll get killed off sometime in the middle of the new series.

I think George Lucas has made some good decisions with this one. The movie itself felt like a TV show, but was still great to watch. I loved it, but my friend said it needed more of the clones and less on the jedi. I also thought the ships, droids and especially the clones were animated nicely. Overall, a great way to start a new series and expose the world to great Star Wars again.

I dont like that guy at 2.55.
Animation is for all ages and not only for kids.
I hate people that think you cant enjoy something if its animated unles your a little kid.
I strongly prefer Animated shows and movies to live-action shows and movies.
Animated feels more exciting to me and often got more interesting and exciting storys and characters.
Im not saying this movie is great or not that guy only really annoyed me.
Hate people like that.

i totally agree! i would love to see the stretch between sith and a new hope when the old republic take over the galaxy one system at a time and eventually become the empire. but it needs to be done correctly, perhaps lucas could produce it and hunt down irwin kirschner or richard marquand to direct, if they r still alive.-ha! George Lucas didn't direct this, nor did he really have that much to do with it. It's ridiculous for people to hate on this 'film' (which is really just 3 episodes from the new series put together) and compare it to live-action films.
And please, Lucas sold out? I'm pretty sure he did that when he started his own company and became a businessman over an artist.

great! most people are adults here showing us again there is an audience for animation! too bad most animation talks down to kids these days and by doing so have long time animation fans like me turn away. its just to kiddy these days. Batman the animated series wasnt kiddy. i mean WASNT always as obvious, well now im writing this. now animation has these jokes on weird moments. i mean there is danger but there is always a joke to make sure the kiddys dont get scared. but the creators dont realise that most kids find those things cool. i did. i also hated wen shows/movies did talk down to me because i was a kid.

The figure style was fine as a cartoon, and the cartoon rocked, but as an animation it looks horrible. Just look at 0:38. I think the vehicles, clone troopers, and droids look fine, but I wish this was a 2-d cartoon, not an animation. Am I the only one thinking this?

It would have been interesting to make a movie that took place between Star Wars (IV) and Empire Strikes Back (V). George Lucas wouldn't have had to worry about the age of the actors, and could have revisited the Star Wars era we all REALLY like. Classic Star Wars seems to be the smart choice in animation, because it's the only way to go back to those characters. Also, I fully understand there is a particular style they were shooting for, but Pixar kicks their ass in the animation department!

now hold on...the acting in episodes 2 and 3 were not that bad...natalie portman and ewan mc gregor, and whoever count dooku is, are all pretty good actors...an not to mention palpatine, he is a very good actor, and hayden isn't as bad as everyone says he is in my opinion

Alright, lets get down to it. There's been a lot of mixed reviews regarding this movie. I'm not going to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it.
The whole goal of The Clone Wars series is to attract the younger generation to Star Wars. If your a parent who is a Star Wars fan and you want to get your kids involved this is the perfect way. If your anywhere from 5 - 12 go see it. If your a kid at heart go see it. If your a Star Wars fan go see it, but at least give it a chance.

I didn't really like thw movie. like one guy said, the plot was paper thin, and most of the detail was put into star cruisers and other machines and weapons. I mean, look at the hair,, compared to the eyes. People's body movements were not well animated either. I did like the droid's dialogue though. and the nintey minutes seemed much longer. There were kids next to me asking how long the movie is. but i may be being harsh. however i don't think they should go through with the cartoon series.

I liked this movie. though the animiation isen't the best. but the Droids have a couple of fun lines. the movie it self i'd rather see live actors then animated but the figthing and Clones- Droids are just as the I,II and III animated so that's ok but please for the love of god do it with live actors. there are some boring lines and scenes but well this is one action packed movie. but be warned you get diseponted by the animated pepole. if they've used real i'd say 6 but as it is animated 4-5

I found that this movie was better then the other prequels. Though given the movie was geared more towards children it was more tasteful in that you're not ripping out your hair like many were with Jar Jar. I found that the animation seemed off at first but quickly grows on you as well. I say watch the movie since it's actually good and I hope they continue these kinds of movies with other EU content.

i honestly thought this star wars movie was a catastrophe. the plot was terrible (especially the end), the dialogue was terrible ("sky guy" = GAY), some of the characters didn't seem to fit (Jabba's uncle who sounded like an old woman), and the new jedi girl was very annoying throughout the movie. the only good thing that came out of this movie was the action, but obviously lucas intended this movie to be for kids. basically, there were a lot of face-palm moments throughout the film. be warned.

I have not see the movie yet, but I'm late on seeing films recently. I just got around to seeing The Dark Knight. But any way this seems to be another mixed review situation, kinda like when the last Indy movie came out. some love it some hate it. I just wish people would give Lucas a break (all the haters) There are Star wars fans who are glad he is still trying to give us something.
