Wow...nice job. When I was a kid riding hunter-jumpers, my friend's pony picked a fight with a horse next to her temp. stall at a show....we had those hanging bridle hooks in between the stalls, and during the fight she managed to hook her nostril right into one of the hooks....it wasn't as bad as your vid, but definitely made me rethink having that kind of gear around horses....they can certainly manage to get themselves hurt on almost anything.

My horse had a nose injury and had stitches. He rubbed all the top stitches out after a week. It starts to heal and he rubs it raw again and again. It has been 3 weeks now and he came in with it bleeding again yesterday. Anything you can suggest to stop the itching and promote healing? Thank you. Jeanne

Are you going to vet school? If so, good luck and have FUN! It's a lot of hard work, and you don't make near as much money a, say, s a plastic surgeon, but you'll have lots of job satisfaction. The only thing is, you have to have a strong stomach. Animals can have a lot of gross things happen to them (i/e a cow w/ a cyst containing literally over gallons of infected puss) but there were be TONS of amazing stuff! Good luck if this is your plan.

this horse at my barn almost ripped his tongue off. when the vet came out i thought wow this is soo cool how he just stitched it up and a month or two later he was better! Thx for responding!

i guess it was a pig,some years ago a pig killed a horse in my grandfather farms,i couldnt believe but pigs can really bite strong

I have a filly that cut off a third of it's foot we have photographs, I think I will do the same as you.

poor horse. that is a seriously nasty injury, the whole chunk of skin was just dangling there, but the vet did a fantastic job, was the injury from a bad horse kick?

a 2 yr old QH did this at my ranch. she was tied up and got her nose caught on a clip that prevents a horse from pulling back. she freaked and off came half her nose. she's doing okay now though.

wow and i thought when my mare pulled her bottom eyelid almost all the way off was bad. poor horse. the vet and you did a great job healing it. scar is hardly noticable
