  • It is better audi quattro

  • This is a video of my old V8 Touareg, I now have the V10. I currently have the toyota open country a/t's on my V10 and they have lasted about 30,000 miles. The best tires I have ever had on the V10 were the Goodyear Wrangler Silent armors, they were absolutely amazing. The video was shot as a joke while I have to say the V10 is lightyears ahead of the V8 in deep snow.

  • @sklmll in what way is the v10 better in snow + is it better for normal driving and in what ways?

  • Btw are you using winter tires in this vid?

  • You say your Toyos lasting the best so far. I have the v10tdi as well and Proxes STII are at the wear bars with worse corner wear at ~20000mi. Which ones do you have? I'm thinking of getting Open country HT w/ treadlife warranty. Also, although theoretically lowrange shouldn't make a difference in this situation all the sudden you were unstuck the moment you said that. Does it make a diff? I'll have to try. Maybe it changes thewaythe computer handles the traction control aswellas the drive ratio

  • Really fun :D but it would be funnier if you crashed at some point, lolz

  • German cars baby!

  • way to much throttle!!

  • i dont know if the car handels the same on sand to snow but on sand u shouldnt turn while ur parked

  • Ale kibel! zakopałsię a z rozpędu to tam nawet maluch wjedzie, moja G klassa w takie zaspy jak wjezdza to na luzie

  • cool story bro

  • I do the same! excepts I Drive a mk3 jetta LOL

  • Debils....

  • this just shows how stupid american really are, and poor. get a fucking range rover

  • wa s er zo grappig wa zit die mongool achter te camera te lachen???

  • lol My 89 Jeep Cherokee would beat that in the snow!

  • smoooooooth

  • lol for the same price buy a

ford f-250 diesel with a 8 foot contractors plow

  • fuck that. who needs the cargo space when your load are gonna get whipped through the off-roading.

  • you should buy a wrangler man

  • why money is so badly distributed around the world???

  • lol, @ u guys...that was funny.."oh oh"

  • Plowing my driveway with my Mommy and Daddys V8 Touareg.

  • @bobsmith1080p his parents have a lakehouse in tahoe and an expensive suv. jealous? shit i would have loved to do shit like this.

  • Poveri idioti, tanti soldi e' poco cervello,se' avessero comprato una Panda era meglio,ci avrebbero risparmiato queste scene pietose!!!!

  • seems like uve never driven driven a real offroad car like the Land rover defender.

  • offroading a defender 90, with AT tires, or dirt or rock is far different than a toureg, on highway rubber, on snow. In this case, lockers would cause all the wheels to move. Low range would just make the wheels turn slower and have a better mechanical advantage on the motor, but I doubt that V8 is having trouble turning the tires in snow.

  • In this case I would go for momentum and all four wheels spinning. Slowing the wheel speed (low range) and hoping to go from sliding to static friction and get the tires to hook would not work in this scenerio. You probably do know how to crawl a defender, but those skills don't transfer to most scenerios, kinda exclusive to your niche.

  • ja snow i smy element aswell living in Finland, and having a country that akes the best snow tyres pllus studded tyres, were well aware of the different grips. I had a friend who had the R5 touareg, they went up a ski slope with it :D Live this car.

Defender is horrible on the motorway. Remember the pain when i wa sin the army in a defender for hours,,ugh

  • Ah, now I see the problem. jur inglesh es a lattle ruogh theyr buday. Can't argue with you.

  • hmmm cant argue with you on that one. I hate my laptop

  • And that's what LOCKERS are for, high range would actually be more effective.

  • You would need to be a non-civilian to understand that reference

  • snooty patronizing voice: "Plowing my driveway in Lake Tahoe with my V8 touareg! "

  • I think this vid is funny.

  • it might have helped to have used a lil more throttle when backing up. but f'real that looks fun

  • An example of a townie with loads of money and no brains.

  • Comment removed

  • Ma cosa c'è da ridere tanto?

  • This vid reminds me of Beavis and Butthead. uh... uh ? Cool!

  • HAHAH so true!

  • hahaha nice video and nice car !!

  • Did that for 3 months, every day in my Cayenne Turbo (probably 5 ft of snow constantly on ground elsewhere). Learnt that after 3 months of 2.5 tons compressing snow it turns to ... ice ... as I slid gracefully into my house. Which makes me a dumbass. Next year used salt and a shovel

  • X-Tra level and low gear get's you almost out of every ditch, mod, snow or whatever your going through !!!1 cheers

  • I have to say, I'm very disappointed, I wanted to actually see a plow on a Touareg. :) You were never even very close at all to what I call "stuck", really, not that bad a driving. The off road comments people are leaving are so freaking dumb there is no possible way to even know where to start correcting them, lol. Keep havin' fun. ;)

  • THIS video is not intended to be a video showing the Touareg's offroad capabilities, or to show a hard core snow driving run. It was my buddy and I JOKING around in the driveway of my cabin. All you idiots that talk smack need to get a life cause you're ruining youtube for the rest of us normal people. Nobody has a gun to your head telling you to watch the video.

  • EXACTLY

nice suv btw. I was thinkin about getting the V8 soon, but I'll wait for the German model to be available in a couple months.

  • @sklmll Fck yeah, teach those dumb asses :D

Btw can You tell me whats better in snow conditions? Cuz I live in Poland and we have really deep snow here and Im thinking of buying a Touareg or a Jeep Commander. Do You happen to know which one deals better with snow?

    Thanks.

  • i think the touareg is a beautiful car.....and don't pay attention to all these heaters, they're just jelous.

  • sklmll, don't you give a shit about assheads...

you had fun drivin, we had fun watchin, f*ck dickheads ))

by the way after 1st stuck i thought that's it, but Touareg got out. Nice car. i want this car but for now can afford only small suv like crv ))

so have fun and don't listen to assholes! peace!

  • The WHOLE point of the video was for FUN idiots. Not to try and show that my touareg was great in the snow or any of that, just to mess around in the driveway of my cabin. I am no "city slicker" dipshit.

  • @sklmll dude, all those you shot it for understood the point. really funny. especially the camera dude's constant laugh. lol. good video. and btw, seems to me it did show off road capabilities this great car has. again, thanks for the video. btw, is this your house or u were renting it? if renting - got a link? wanna go there next winter..

  • @sklmll envy is a bitch man

  • Moron

  • im pretty sure he put it in "low range" because he was stuck!! and you dont want a lot of torque when your wheels are spinning, you want less so that they spin slower and get more traction... why dont you just quit bad mouthing videos untill you have something smart to say!

  • Exactly my point dumb-ass, low range delivers waaay more torque therefore high range would have been sufficient in snow. When you spin out low range wont get you out! So why don't you listen to your own advice, and not leave comments until you think about what your saying.

  • he was definitely stuck which means low range was needed! is there a law that says you need to be some trail junky to have a little fun in the snow?!?

  • You DON'T need low range when your stuck in snow! I live in rural canada (so i have experience) and i have never used low range in snow... ever. You don't need extra power in snow... the wheels can't put the effectively put that much power to use in something so slippery; therefore making the said comment stupid. Low range does NOT get you unstuck!

  • low range doesnt get you unstuck but when in low range on the touareg you can also lock the differential and transfer case, not that everyone needs it but an option. nice vid, looks like fun, snowin here now!! my turn...

  • you need some tires.

  • ok buddy. Just because it's german engineering, it doesn't meen it's gonna make up for your shitty driving.

  • How's the 10 cylinder treating you?

  • I love it, absolute MONSTER!!

  • nice house

  • LOL 5 stars !!

  • wow my little suzuki sidekick could tow that POS through that mound of snow. that thing sucks!

  • Wow mr. big stuff and his suzuki sidekick. I'm so affended!

  • Hhaha, you have never driven in snow, have you? If you did you would know how much of an idiot you sound like right now.

  • 1 more comment doesn't hurt...

  • as the germans say

    almosht SHTUCK !

  • that v8 sounds so good

  • you need to back up faster

  • What's your rack setup? Do you use the factory roof bars? Looks pretty nice. Currently looking at either a V8 Touareg or splurging for a Cayenne Turbo. This recession has definitely turned the market for low mileage SUVs in favor of the buyer.

  • The rack setup is all yakima, with the control towers and landing pads secured to the factory tracks. On top of that are the ski racks and the yakima skybox. If your looking at the V8 touareg or the cayenne turbo, I suggest you finda V10tdi touareg, I just bought one and it is incredible.

  • lol my friend did this with his lowered vw golf, needless to say; speed is required to make it through the drifts.

  • yeaa german offroad technology! VW rockss

  • YE . when you got 4x4 you dont need to plow your yard ;DD ive noticed that too ;D

  • Having fun with AWD in the snow :) That is what it's all about. Nice video.

  • what kind of tyres are mounted?

  • This is my second touareg and this one doesnt have air suspension. The truck still is very good offroad, and yes I was just messing around when I made this video!

  • that one must not have the air suspention because its sitting pretty low

  • those guyz didnt whanted to show how suks/good treg on offroad. they're just having fun.

ps. treg is really nice on offroad - my opinion.

  • did u turn the auto diff to the off road mode?

  • What do you mean? The diff was switched between auto high and auto low.

  • i mean low

  • awesome capabilities?? c'mon folks any suv should be able to do that.. my 1000$ 98 expllorer can do that wihtout getting stuck lol.. that thing is like 80 grand and its pretty shit.. plus those people dont know how to use it

  • Blah blah blah, its called messing around anf having some fun my my truck. Get a life.

  • i mess around with my v8 vw too....when did u take this vid?

  • those things dont cost 80g they cost 60grand

  • the TDIs cost about 80

  • долбоёбы не русские :-))

  • I have the 2006 v10 tdi same color as yours. I live in Alaska its snoowyy

  • yup. touareg is great in snow!

  • Thanks for showing me my car capabilities. I ahve way ore confidence in my touareg now

  • yup. an awesome car. do you have the v8 too?

  • Yep got the V8, looking at getting a V10 now!

  • How old are you?

  • hey sklmll. how many miles did you get off of your first set of tires? 25,000? i know that is cant be too many because my touareg is eating through its tires. anyways this is much better than my touareg video. nice work!

  • Yea my first continentials were worn at 18k miles, then the pirellis lasted about 25k more and now the toyo's seem to be lasting much better than either of the first tires.

  • it looks as though i will have to replace the stock pirellis at 25,000 miles. my mercedes ml lasted 50,000+ miles. what a difference! please, more touareg snow videos! try a.b.s. in the snow and a flat ground burnout, maybe even some doughnuts. keep it up! 5/5

  • very nice

  • those are toyo open country A/T's with like half the original tread. The car would be alot better if I ran dedicated winter tyres on it.

  • Ok. Nice car by the way ;)

  • Is that all season tires?

  • maxou5757! must like the touareg snow vids

  • Yes lol ^_^

  • it might snow on the 6th of january. if it does, you can probabally expect a snow vid or two from me. i'll see what the weather does.

  • Ok nice :D

  • very bad

  • There's nothing special about your video, I don't run winter tires because I drive the car on alot of pavement.

  • You need real winter tyres, I can do that with my 5 series BMW. Check out my video!

  • lol! that reminds me of the commercial:"it can do what other volkswagens cant." touaregs are great cars! i love mine!

  • hehe cool :D I love touareg`s nice vid :P funny
