i always tryed to get in fights with my teachers they were all a bunch of dicks they would threat to call the police sometimes because i wouldnt do some of the dumb shit they ask so i eventually droped out now im working on getting my ged
fucking bullshit, ive dated a girl with dyed hair and know several other people in my school who dye their hair and they arent picked on they are perfectly normal and even one girl has blue pink purple and red in her hair and i think it looks really good, and alot of people like it. If i was in that situation i would say to her to pick a color she likes and die her hair completely that color, she can be who she wants and nobody should tell her who to be, especially not the teachers.
i agree with you man its stupid, the school system said the same thing back to me when i was in middle school.... i use to dye my hair blood red...i looked at it as a freedom of speech... i expressed my self by being different... and i didnt care about being different its who i was and who i am.... im wierd :)
Same stuff happened to me when I was in high school. I got searched on camera one time by the assistant, and main principle. At the end he said I should cut my hair because it gives people the wrong impression, that I don't need to stick out, or stuff like this will continue to happen. Was obviously BS.
And I have nothing against taco bell or its employees....I'm just saying, some kids will have a higher intellect and most likely pursue higher education, some will not - the world needs both to survive...but that crap that everybody's 100% level and the same, that conforming mind-set...it just sucks, and it robs kids of their self-motivation.
Fuck, for my school they had principal's list for 90+ avg, honor-role for 80+ avg, and "academic distinction" for 70+ avg. Now I'm not picking on anybody's intellect here, but you shouldn't get a certificate because you're above 70...seeing as if your average is 5% lower you're failing, you shouldn't get a certificate for passing by more than 5%. Should stop at 80%+, and if they student doesn't get it, maybe that'll be some motivation for 'em - or else it won't and they'll work at taco bell...
@notrollable Exactly, and failing should be perfect motivation. I remember when I didn't get principal's list a few times and I was like "fuck, totally fucked up that one, if only my grade in X didn't suck, oh well, gotta do better next quarter." That was in middle school. That shit ended in high school and so did my motivation to try in school. Luckily by some miracle I was able to get into a good tech college & into a good field, but I certainly could have tried better in HS.
@notrollable So yeah, kids need motivation, no doubt. But this equal leveling of everything goes too far. The example Kryten provided is a perfect example, I recall thinking during middle school trophies "what's the point of this? Why are there trophies if everybody gets one" - and ironically I still retain that thought process to this day. Got a trophy every season I played for every sport in middle school and lower, whole shelf full of them, don't think we won a lot, either...
@notrollable Kids must be taught SELF-motivation, because in life that's what they'll need to use. They need to be taught about the real world on some level or another, that all people don't have equal status, and if they fuck up in the real world, their boss will fire their ass - not pat 'em on the shoulder and tell them they're still a winner. Kids are more resilient than you may think, best to teach them what's ideal, and what's realistic from a young age, while impressionable.
Yeah, I hear ya man, that's crap, there's no reason your daughter should be picked out (by the principal none-the-less) for green-tips...wtf...that was just the tip of the ice berg in my school..sure, that was 6 years ago, but that's not a long time...
Principal sounds like a dumbass, and I completely hear you on that socialism bullshit mindset of 'everybody's the same' - and everybody gets a trophy.
this guy that shits on your daughter is a fucktard, if she wants to go with green hair he can suck his ass. Even i would tell him that if he isnt stoping that you sue him . Let see how he likes to suck on that.
what grade is your daughter in i have a little cousin that does the black clothes and spikes with red hair thing i dont realy like the image but thats who she is and she has more friends than me lol and no one says shit at school to her the rainbow tootoo was hilairious but if a kid wants to where water boots and a damn super man costume to school hell i say let them be who they are.
@motorider600 She's in 6th grade. She wears crazy stuff sometimes but most of the time she dresses pretty cool in band shirts and stuff. While other kids are wearing justin bieber shit she wears foo fighters or pearl jam shirts and things like that. She has lots of friends and the teachers all say great things about her. This guy is just a typical tyrant pushing his views on others.
i must admit i love watching your videos and rants on this :) and i agree what you are saying in Scotland it isn't as bad in some places as i went to school with lip piercings and longish hair they never really bothered to much its honestly a joke how they want to make everyone look the same i say let them be who they are and teach them as that is what they are paid for

my respect, your in a difficult situation but doing the right thing. you may not win this case, but yo still did the right thing and your daughter has a dad who supports her all the way. ;)
it's so refreshing to hear that there are parents that are so supportive of their child :) ...but part of what school teaches children is that they have to be like everyone else, blend in...it's where the "heard-mentality" is taught inadvertently, unfortunately it's ingrained in the system, not much we can do to change it :(
Kryten Raise hell with that school starting with the principal. Have a meeting with the school board and let them know that Pappa bear is on the scene.
@321checkcheck Practice practice practice. I used to miss gears sometimes. Just this past weekend on my dirt bike I accidentally popped it into neutral on a hill. That sucked!
@TheNigger12 That would be boring. Interstates are dull no matter how fast you go. Besides I've been recognized by people on the street and two of them have been cops so I don't need to incriminate myself.
I've noticed something in common with most of my bad teachers: they all got out of high school, went to college to get a teaching degree, then became teachers. They've spent their whole lives inside a school! I have a feeling that this principal is like that.
My good teachers are people who left high school, got a job/went to college then got a job, stopped working at their old job, then decided to become a teacher for some (strange) reason.
@kryten okay. Um, yes, I agree with you then, it's stupid. I go to a private school, and as I'm sure you know, they don't really need to follow state laws or anything like that. ya know, they can force you to say the pledge of allegiance, force you to pray, and enforce dress code.
This resounds of George Orwell 1984 "thought crime"
I was brought up in London, most schools had a dress uniforms (the schools colors), I was fortunate enough to attend a French school (On French land as it was next to the French embassy), under French law, students can't wear a uniform, as it is there human right to express themselves. It was nice note to see a clone in the play ground.
@gogosor Its amazing how much most Americans despise France when France is so much like what the United States was supposed to be. People go on and on about freedom here as long as its the freedoms they want. To hell with anyone that doesn't think like they do. Their freedom doesn't matter.
i was kicked out of high school because some senile old woman at the front office thought she heard me say 'many deaths' on the phone. no proof, no recording, no context or anything else... she's sure that i said 'many deaths' and that's enough these days to not only kick you of of school but also have the state charge you with diversion claiming you were harassing or some bullshit. my faith in this country's schools no longer exists. faith in law enforcement is pretty low too.
what the fuck? Our school doesn't give a shit about any of that stuff, the only time they care is if a girl or guys clothes are wayyy too bad, like tits falling out and stuff, and during the summer half the time they don't say anything about that either. Hair color is the last thing our teachers are worried about
@amesplumbing I was going to but my daughter didn't want to take it that far. My kids both know that as long as they're not harming others I will back them 100%. I even found similar court cases that set precedent but she decided she didn't want to make a big deal out of it.
@TheBocephus89 I don't see how it would matter either way personally. Hair color doesn't harm anyone. I believe people should have the right to do whatever they want as long as it doesn't harm others. Some people argue that children don't have equal rights but I think that is BS too. If the parents aren't opposed then the schools should have no control over a child's appearance.
@kryten yea i see what ur saying, i know somebody that got suspended for something they did while they were home, they werent even at school, then again they started a rumor that there was going to be a school shooting, that is kinda serious but i dont think they should be able to suspend u for something u didnt do at school
First, that was a beautiful drive on the video. Reminds me of here (Atlanta) a lot.
Second, since when is hair color an issue!? In high school, I knew a girl that had a RAINBOW mo-hawk! In spikes! Seriously, how is a little green gonna hurt anyone? hese schools are getting crazy...
@MetroidMaster When I go to Atlanta I always kinda think it looks like a bigger and nicer version of Birmingham. :)
Hair color and length have been an issue here since I was in school. I used to get hassled by the schools for having long hair. Its not as much of a problem in more progressive areas. Even just one county over its no big deal. Unfortunately I live in a very conservative, ass backwards area.
The school my little brother and sister go to is full of clowns just like the head in this video.
They told my sister that she had to spend her break and lunch times in a little room on her own because somebody at school stole her shoes and she had to go in in trainers.
I don't understand why having green tips in her hair is a bad thing, nor do I see how it impacts on the school in any way. She should be allowed to be herself.
I used watch Mr.Rogers as a kid as well.Pretty much what I remember him teaching me was treat people how you would like to be treated.I also didn't win any awards for losing when i was kid too.But do remember a time when i was in kindergarten and i won an award for something one of my class mates got pissed that i won something and he gave me the old,you think you're so cool line.I was the fat kid,i was never cool.Maybe he was jealous of my 1980's Tan Members Only Jackets for kids.LOL!!
It sounds like the school is covering their asses against law suits. A long detailed talk with principal and her teachers is in order. Try to have an even temper when you have this talk. Get involved at her school. Is she an A to B student? I know that If I have kids, the School will have a Hate/ love relationship with me.
@rootbeerfan6 I don't see how this would cover them from law suits. If anything it would cause one. I looked it up and there are several cases where it was ruled in a federal court that the schools can't do that.
I left it up to my daughter. I told her if she wanted to fight it we would but she said she wasn't planning to keep the green tips for more than a week anyway and she didn't think it was worth the hassle
She's usually an A student and she's never been in trouble. Schools just suck
I used to have a huge mohawk in high school, I spiked it up with Elmer's glue, and i would dye it every color under the sun. The school never gave me a problem bout it though... I was an A-B student, honors, and AP classes, but even if I wasn't i don't think they would have cared about it.
The way they're treating her is unfair, and could be considered a form of bullying... unless she is doing something to hurt herself or others, they should keep there opinions to themselves.
i agree with everything u say my oldest daughter is the same way and i be damned if anybody is goin to try to change her she is very out going and she has her own since of style and i love that about her and she is a very opinionated lil girl that will say whatever is on her mind about anything lol love the vids man
@droopyman5000 Kids like that will grow up to do well in the world as long as they don't go overboard. Its good to be outgoing as a kid and a lot of kids have that kind of behavior stifled by moronic adults. Rules for the sake of rules is bullshit. The main rule I have with my kids is don't harm others and help others when you can.
Its all about control by the school Kryten mate,do as we say end of.glad she's different good on her and even better that you like the fact that she is different . She sounds like a character good on her. But it sounds like the school just wants robots performing to their tune.
@thatmanfromyorkshire I went through the same sort of thing in school. I had long hair, still do. I fought it and most of the time the school backed down. In the end my daughter chose to die her hair black. She was blonde. She wanted to do something that would piss them off while staying within the boundaries of the rules. She's my little rebel! :)
All of what you said was true! I put red bits in my hair when i was at school, had it for weeks and never heard anything negative from other kids. Then i was told that i "stood out too much" by some angry old bitch teacher lol
@tarsin666 Yeah they say its for your own best interest but its really because they feel uncomfortable around people that aren't like them. Its just insecure little people pushing their ideals on others to make themselves feel better.
@BikerBENify I shot this before I got the drift. It was a topic I was very upset about at the time and I had over an hour of footage. It took me forever to edit it down to something watchable and I almost didn't post it.
I may still have a few GoPro vids but from here on out it should be mostly Drift with GoPro footage for additional angles.
@ivobondptbe I have a 600. I wanted a 750 but I got a really good deal on my 600. Lately I've considered trading it in for a newer 750 or 1000 but I doubt I will.
Speaking about school dress codes, I f**king hate uniforms.
I was once sitting down with my friends, when my class teacher came up to us to talk about a party we had to do that year. We, ofcourse, were nearly about to stand up, but she told it's okay. Then the principle walked again later and told us loudly to stand up, so we did. Our teacher left and he was off to another class. We sat down again to chat and then he walks by again and screams "stand up when I'm talking to you!", what a moron.
this must be such a stress reliever to just talk while taking a nice ride :)

Schools are all about the money. Now get back in line on the assembly line called education. :)

@kryten Thumbs up to ya both then ;-)

All of what you said was true! I put red bits in my hair when i was at school, had it for weeks and never heard anything negative from other kids. Then i was told that i "stood out too much" by some angry old bitch teacher lol

@tarsin666 Yeah they say its for your own best interest but its really because they feel uncomfortable around people that aren't like them. Its just insecure little people pushing their ideals on others to make themselves feel better.

what happened to the drift
BikerBENify 2 months ago
@BikerBENify I shot this before I got the drift. It was a topic I was very upset about at the time and I had over an hour of footage. It took me forever to edit it down to something watchable and I almost didn't post it.
I may still have a few GoPro vids but from here on out it should be mostly Drift with GoPro footage for additional angles.

ivobondptbe 2 months ago
@ivobondptbe I have a 600. I wanted a 750 but I got a really good deal on my 600. Lately I've considered trading it in for a newer 750 or 1000 but I doubt I will.
