@peerlesslondin Yeah. '...to this REPUBLIC for which we stand...' A republican form of government assures security for the wealthy. You know, the job creators. They have the power, not we the people. If you are surprised by the Declaration, check out the Federalist Papers. That series of essays is the literal handbook for our Federal government.The peruse the Anti-Federalist. Our history is on record. If we study it, we may not repeat the mistakes.Even then, the' middle class' was vital.

@HermesofLight The particular election that we are obliquely discussing was corrupted in so many way that it seems a pointless debate. The demonstrated fact is our nation began with the votes of a few rich white men, and now seems about to end with the votes of a few rich white men. That's not a democracy, it's a republic. Our current president provides the most interesting administration, but we should wonder, who is really leading us down the rabbit hole? My guess is, a few rich white men.

@cl3ify If rich white men were the only people whose vote counted, blacks would still be riding the backs of buses and women still wouldn't be voting. All it takes is enough people speaking up and/or casting votes to bring about change. That's democracy.
