Sorry man, this isn't a glitch or an easter egg. You need to look up what those two terms mean. All you did was use some ingenuity to get under the map. A glitch is an error in programming, not something that will genuinely happen in most games with loading screens between areas.

You can do it with Oblivion, too. ;)

good glitch but its much easier if u

1) enable the consol

2) press ~ to open the console

3) type "sv_gravity #" (without quotes and fill in the # with a low number like 50 or 100)

4) this will make the gravity less so u can float around the map. the default gravity is 600 incase u wanna set it back.

I say it is a glitch, but thats just me. I think easter eggs would be something Valve put in there for a purpose, while this may just have been something they over looked. For the ant spider thing, I think that is just an ant that comes later in the level, where the dudes are healing Alex on the table, and he just happened to fit in there nicely. So it's not exactly a glitch, nor a easter egg. But if I had to choose, glitch.

just lazy valve not making a level completly secure but they do throw in eastereggs. in one of the areas near the antlion gaurd in the tunnles when you need to get the extract there is a blocked up tunnle, activate consol type sv_Cheats 1 and then hit enter then type noclip and go through the stalagtites, sorry for misspellings, in there it says in words floating in the air. how did you get in here? and thats all lol yay eastereggs :D

Explanation to why the antlion is there:

It's much easier to store a scripted AI character on the map rather than creating it on the spot (also consumes less memory as it preloads it's sequence on mapload)

So the mappers just put the antlion there so it can be used later by the game in a cinematic or scripted sequence (by moving it wherever they want it to be)

I regularly play games on both the Xbox and PC, and my opinion is that PC gaming is an all-around more immersive experience. On a PC, my heart races, I sweat, and I can more easily shut out the world around me and concentrate on my screen as if it's a separate world. Consoles don't really provide that same escapism for me. Console games feel more like games than bona-fide art/entertainment experiences.

I don't want to start a fight, I just saw an opportunity to express my own view.

That antilion is sitting there before hand so the cut scene where Alyx gets attacked is possible. Thats how they programed it. Just like how the advisers are already sitting outside the level of the helicopter hanger before they attack everyone at the end of episode 2. Their placed already so they can get you, but so you can't see them before hand.
