...to me that while not advocating nor prohibiting it directly as you said, views polygyny in a wholesome light given the intent of the women's hearts.
Good video here. I like your assessment of the passage. The only thing I would disagree with is why the seven women take hold of one man. You say it is to survive the Day of Reckoning and given the context of the passages I would agree. Yet 4:1 reads that the women will provide for themselves the necessities of survival, they only wish to be called by the man's name so that their reproach is taken away. It would seem polygyny is practiced in order to cleanse themselves of sin. It would seem...
Here is an issue that I see If there is an act that can keep a woman from shame that act cannot be a shameful act. in Is chap 4 v.1 after God has made everything holy there would be no such thing as shame. by your standard here. In ll Samuel 12 v 7&8 God takes credit for giving King david the house and wives of Saul and would have given him more if he had desiredsuch things. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO SIN If there is an act that can KEEP someone from shame that act cannot be a shameful act
Wow you are way off on this as well. The day of the LORD is the millennial reign of Christ. Armageddon will cause a shortage of men. The women go to the men left and they say they can’t take them because they are not husbands this is because they are to young or to old. All of what I just said is in Prophecy. One day to the LORD is a thousand years.
In order to understand the word you must know who the Bible is speaking to. And clearly you have difficulty w/ that. Is. 4 has nothing to do w/ polygamy. This is spiritual, the 7 women represents the 7 spirits of the 6 feast days and Sabbath. the bread is a meat offering and is prepared a particular way for each feast. Too reiterate my point, these things are done in Jerusalem "where" the priest are instructed to serve w/ 6 feast days and a Sabbath. The only way to purge filth is ash and water
Isa 4:1 ¶ And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
reproach=taunt scorn,restin upon condition of shame,disgrace.
Now what was their reproach?
read Isaiah 3:6-26 And it will show how they became so humble in Isaiah 4:1
Now ask yourself this? If isaiah3:6-7 is apart of the filth then how could Isaiah 4:1 also be apart of the Filth?
And then the Video he tried to make as if Isaiah 4:5-6 meant that the day of reckoning hasnt come as if he's following some timeline but Isaiah 4:3 it said he that remaineth in Jerusalem shall be called Holy! So 5-6 was only explaining How the holy will be protected from the Scorn of Isaiah 3:26.
..Very important video...Thank you, glorthac...Black Hebrew Israelites, Muslims and Mormons distort the Bible to justify the immorfality (polygamy) of their prophets...your biblical schpolarship pus their futile and heretical arguments to naught ...thank you, brother...please make more videos like this...we need you...
Isa 3:9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them ; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide[it] not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
then we say hmmm what is the sin of sodom(after you said:they only showed their sin like sodom did)and then i showed you ezekiel16:49 which proved the sins of sodom.and when you read the WHOLE 3rd chapter of isaiah 3 you see that the sins of the children of zion were the same ones as sodom.
and that being so proves that the filth wasnt in isaiah4:1 as you THINK because none of the sins of sodom was SEVEN WOMEN HOLDING ON TO ONE MAN!!! and besides that scripture it self said that they will eat their own food and wear their own apparel. and be called by their name to TAKE AWAY their reproach, you cant get around that
Where does Ezekiel 16:49 say Sodom's sins were: being filled with influences from the East, soothsaying, striking bargains with foreigners (Isaiah 2:6)?
My point is there are similarities between the sins of Sodom and Jerusalem, but there are differences.
Thus just because Sodom was never mentioned as having committed polygyny (1 man, 2+ wives), doesn't mean its not part of the list of sins of Jerusalem.
My video and this response indicate Isaiah 4:1 only describes polygamy.

That verse is definitely not an approval of polygamy. I think you did a very good job of placing it in it's proper context.

How Wrong!!! The punishment was done in Isaiah 3:26
Isa 3:26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she [being] desolate shall sit upon the ground.
Desolate=to be empty,be clear,be pure, be free ,be innocent,be cutt off to be purged out.
So the Filth will be purged out by the time Isaiah 4:1 starts!

When they are both contrary to each other?

@YHWHisElohim No, but I do think the verse views it in an approving light.
