As soon as I heard this, I had an image About a tall tree, it changed color whenever it sensed danger. A different color for a certain degree of danger. If the danger was inevitable, it would burn itself. A tribe of uncontacted natives followed the tree's "signal" of warning. Idk, just an instant image.
