This video is the first step where I cut "pockets" about .010" larger than the letters as well as the shapes for some other logo and shapes. Then we went on to paint the entire sign the background color we wanted. Then cut out the letters etc thick enough to stick out from the surface of the sign by about a 1/2" from another piece of material and painted them their different colors and used adhesive to place them within their pockets giving the sign a true three dimensional effect.

How do you paint the sign if the background is a different color from the letters?
