When you use the term "producer" in music other than Hip-Hop or different types of Electronic music, the producer is the person that put the song together. It's similar to being an arranger. The producer would have his or her hands in all elements of the song, including vocals, when certain instruments would come in, where to have switch-ups, etc. We need more producers and less beatmakers.
