  • hi steve, im a basketball player at my school..and burning a lot of calories when we train..and im planning to take the micheal phelps diet.. not the amount of calories but the type of food that he eats..so is it ok? will it affect my game? and athletism?

    please anwer ths!

  • can walking and jogging help increase my endurance?

  • im having problems burning body fat i eat a good clean diet and do cardio 3 times a week for 45 to 60 min my heart rate is around 135 to 160, but havent notice any fat loss its 7 weeks in to my cardio hitting 8 week next week, anybody have any idea where am i going wrong? bodyperformanceTV i would like you to answer this, thanks

  • @19may0001 Check your daily calorie intake. Since cardio will burn about 300 calories per walk so that's not a huge calorie burn. Therefore check your daily calorie intake.

  • @BodyPerformanceTV I have the same problem. How many calories should I eat per day? I am right now eating 1500 and burning about 400 5 days per week on an aerobic machine

  • @19may0001 try doing HIIT high intense interval training for 15-20min maybe that will helps burn more calories and fat not fast but much more quicker than doing 45min boring cardio

  • @19may0001

your not weight training, and probally over doing your cardio...cardio in its self to lose weight is ver ineffective, u need to build muscle coz muscle burns fat all day long....

  • @19may0001

add a 2-3 times a week ressistance training... If your body is really good at cardio... it can do the cardio with little effort and so you dont "WORKOUT" as much as people who are bad at cardio and then start for the first time.

I think cardio is one of the most commonly missed places for muscle confusion (or awakening weaker muscles)

  • Like this guy-complicated stuff made easy..good work

  • @BodyPerformanceTV Metabolism for ectomorphs is a thickle BITCH.

  • what if u excersice but dont eat?? what happens then?? do u stil lose weight??

  • @12lou93 Your body will use your muscles for energy instead of fat. Meaning You will lose your muscle mass but your fat level will remain the same.

  • @YourDopamine oh right thankyou. ur realy helpful, i love your channel :) x

  • That's true, sorry I did not mean to appear high and mighty. It's just that in your intro you mention that people who talk about wishing to adjust their metabolism are not really sure what they are talking about.

  • You cannot break down fat into glycogen as it states in the intro. Fat is broken down into Acetyl CoA during beta oxidation in the mitochondria.

  • @cummindb Thanks Mr. Science. I'm sure EVERYBODY understands THAT! Let's just say it's broken down into energy through Gluconeogenesis. I'm sure they would undersatnd that too!

  • thanks for upload video.

  • If I wanted to gain muscle, do I need to elevate my metabolism? I always do 5 to 6 minutes of cardio before every workout. Some say I should do bout 20 to 30 minutes before lifting weights so I could get my metabolism fast, while others told me not to overdo my cardio for I will lose weight rather than gaining muscle weight, What would I need to do?

  • You should NOT do cardio before lifting, you'll tire yourself out before lifing where you'll need all your energy. You've got some very bad information there. The whole bit about "getting your metabolism fast" is just ridiculous.

  • @yonon08 5 minutes cardio is fine. if you want to gain muscle you need to drink beefcake 5000 after every weights session

  • if you want to gain muscle you have to be eating 250-500 more calories than your body burns... the higher your metabolism, the harder it is to gain weight (fat or muscle). i would say do cardio 20-30 mins for 3 times a week in order to keep a healthy heart which will come really in handy when enganging in intense, physically demanding workouts

  • @yonon08 First of all you want to be working out when your hormones are pumping and at its highest state. That's generally 10 mins into your workout and last for about an hour and a half so dont waste your time doing cardio if u wanna put on mass. Instead Flex your muscles hard between sets.

  • Did he just say "love you bobby"?.

  • I didn't find that very funny...

  • Thank you!

  • hi are people skinny becouse of fast metabolism?

  • your pig is fat

  • if you just want to maintain your weight and not lose fat or gain muscle, are the exercises and diet the same for if you want to lose weight

  • Your video's are vary good

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

    very helpful.

  • tnx, very helpful

  • very good video. taught me a lot just now.

  • Thanks!

  • ive never really know what true meaning of metabalism is, yeh im daft i know. BUT THIS VIDEO AND MAN JUST MADE ME UNDERSTAND IT. THANK YOU!!! lol. :)

  • YW!!!

  • Is there such a thing as too much exercise?

  • Not as long as you're recovering...meaning getting enough food and rest.

  • @grassnuggets Yes! too much exercise will make you age faster...because of exercise induced oxidation. It's a fine line between right amount/kind of exercise to live healthy and long...too much, or wrong type of exercise will shorten one's life span!

  • YW!

  • Thank You for breaking it down to me.

  • I've noticed this.... when I don't exercise for two weeks, I get full easily and can't eat as much.. but when I do exercise it seems as though I can eat whatever I want and still get leaner. It's really neat how our bodies work in these ways.

  • What type of workout you do?

  • Yes, if you can stick with it and do some exercise every day you can easily lose the weight. It will take about 8 months but that's not that long to live the rest of your life in shape.

  • so just exercise and eat healther and less? a bunch of people thing u ned to eat certain types off food and balance between calories and exercise. ill just do what u said lol

  • i used to be 5'7 193 pounds at my heaviest in high school. i am now 5'10 and 152 pounds at age 21. i ate less and began to walk more, play basketball, etc. i also avoided excess salt which is very important because it causes something called water retention which adds water weight to you. and drink when thirsty, without excess salt youll only drink what you need. avoid Soda and anything with high fructose corn syrup as it tricks you into thinking your hungry. eat slow as you get full faster.

  • @bxkid69 thanks dad

  • is a 1500 caloriies diet good for me im 60 pounds overweight

  • Thank you!

  • Well said. Many people really don't know that...

  • You're lucky and I doubt if you're really eating that many calories but it might seem that way. Try eating foods that have whole grains and more fiber. These will fill you up.

  • What happens when you eat and eat and are still hungry (and slim) - can you slow down your metabolism? - Help!

  • Well the thing is the more you eat ur matablism increases and more you exercise fast increses so eat 3 big meals a day and try skipping breakfast

  • hmmm, skipping breakfast is the worse thing to do....having breakfast is what helps u lose weight ......

  • Yeah I agree right there. Good reminder you posted up to everyone.

  • I love my body, check out my weightloss progress.

  • wow you explained it very well. Now im fascinated with the way metabolism works, i know that when you exercise you raise your metabolism, but im a big fan with pushups can my metabolism raise while doing pushups

  • Remember, people are all different. 1) He might be more active than you 2) He probably doesn't eat as much as he thinks or as much as you think he does. 3) High metabolism is really a myth. At rest our metabolisms are about the same. 4) You don't have to workout to see your abs. All you need to do is lower your body fat levels but exercising will help.

  • i have a question. my friend has a six pack and everything but he never works out or anything. and he eats more then me but he never gains weight. when i ask him about it he tells me that he has a high metabolism is that true or does he have some disease or sum.

  • Good . But I lost over 30 lb in one month using weight loss plan from LSWEIGHT(.)INFO

You have the nicest eyes. Your voice is really calming and I normally can't watch anything over 5 minutes But i watched yours. Loved it!

  • haha, I thought he said "Love ya, Bye" at the end.

    (He said love your body)

  • lmao.

  • lol me too!

  • So is there such a thing as too much exercise if you are 100 pounds overweight or more? (I am thinking of the biggest loser show and how I would probably die if I did what they do.

  • the best things to start out doing is researching exercises and foods.then take it slow and increase to ur workouts each week.also dont eat so much or too much junk

  • nice!! Really great stuff here

  • Can the use of anti-depressive medication for a long time decrease you metabolism? Pills like Efexor or the use of benzodiazepines can the have a protracted effect on your metabolism ability to burn calories?

Thanks. Could need some advice. I'm exercising and gong on an 1400 kcal diet and no results yet.

  • no it just increases how hungry you are. By increasing 5-Hydroxytryptamine otherwise known as Serotonin you will increase your appetite. This will cause weight gain. If you read the label of the medication it should say weight gain is a possible side effect. This is why when you're depressed you don't feel as hungry

  • An interesting fact. Yes, depressed ppl do not feel hunger like ppl in normal mood.

  • I also should have let you know that 1400 cals may be too little. When cutting you have to find a balance. I once cut too many calories and never lost much fat at all. You should be lifting weight to minimize the amount of muscle you lose so that you'll lose more fat.

  • Interesting info thanks.

  • okay so heres the deal... i have an extremly high metabolism !! i mean damn ! i eat 6-8 meals a day, and yea i do train 3 times a week 3 hrs but stil ! no matter how much i eat i can't seem to gain weight... what could i do ?

what posetive effect dose a high metabolism have ? i know i have the genes for a high metabolism so its not only the traning.

  • having a high metabolism dont let u build more muscle than a normal metabolism person, the nutrients burn way faster that why ur muscles dont absorb them...u shouls eat 6 times top...good luck with that

  • Do you have low fat body? If that is your case just eat high glucemic food exceeding your current diet by 500 calories, not more, should work.

  • Fast metabolic rate isn't a problem when you want to gain. I started at 115 pounds, I am 5'8". I could eat anything in the world and I wouldn't gain weight. When it comes to gaining it's not all how many calories you eat but what percentage of each. You want to be eating 3000 calories a day if you're 150 pounds at 9% bf, which is where I am to gain weight. You will gain fat with muscle, if you do not gain fat you will plataeu quickly. Ratio carbs=50-60% Protein=20-30% fat=10-20%. I eat 55,25,20%

  • Ispirational Steve.. Bloody AWESOME Dude!!

  • thanks for the info, very well explained

  • You're welcome!

  • Awesome video's Steve. All the stuff we hear broken down into simple layman's terms. Thank you!

  • You're welcome.

  • Cool video

  • Thank you!

  • It's never too late!

  • Holy shit, it feels like I've been lied to my whole life. Now I'm pissed... I should get off this computer and go get on a bike or something... Although the last time I rode a bike was when I was young... And it's 1:00 AM.

  • Thanks! Need a job!

  • A very simple fact, overlooked by so many people who simply seek a fast solution to their weight problems. Pills and machines that you use for 3 minutes a week won't do the job. It takes real work to make your body want to give up what it thinks is valuable fat. You're the man.
