  • Simply tracking Toby and the gang's progression from, say, Bath to Dowsing... An incredible leap.

  • I guess that could be misunderstood as if motW didn't already have skillfully composed albums with a connecting theme, because they do, but Kayo Dot has evolved further towards that practice and has become more fluent and skillful with each passing album. I mean Choirs of the Eye is fucking amazing. Not to mention that since they released the new motW, it continues that trend, and its fucking INCREDIBLE. CotE and Part the Second are wonderful albums to listen to back to back.

  • I had really gotten into maudlin of the Well about half a year ago, listened to them religiously, was kind of irked that they disbanded to play the type of music that Kayo Dot plays, but then I finally let go of my misconceptions of Kayo Dot and it realized how much they've evolved (I didn't know it was possible to be even BETTER than motw). Where motw did great prog rock pieces, Kayo Dot puts together entire albums that flow together perfectly like Pink Floyd's "Dark side of the Moon".

  • I miss motW...

  • Was that Toby talking at the end?

  • didnt sound like him

  • Big Fabulous, represent!

  • Yeaah!!! DROOONEE!!!

  • oh no, that is not children at all, but mental giants playing very complex intentional avant-garde compositions. @4:00 see violinist Mia Matsumiya, she is a brilliant beautiful goddess that would put all things occult and mystical onto a little boy like you :)

  • this is possibly the most obnoxious comment the internet has yet seen

  • Awesome version of the song!

  • Good to see and hear improvisation! I will look into working with this fine group in the near future.. Thanks for the post.

    Vi An

  • Why is it that the music "industry" today is bristling with fucking awful commercial garbage and bands like Kayo Dot go underneath the radar...honestly this is the first time i've ever heard of Kayo Dot!

  • Simple: 'cause life is a piece of shit and nothing's fair.

  • a ten miniute song would cut into commercial time.

  • wow!! good thing that you know em now...cheers!...spread the word!!

I cheer for this fine group!

  • @Rockstafar coz we all wana believe the world is flat =(

  • are you implying that it isnt?

  • KILLER!

  • didnt like maudlin of the well, first time i hear kayo dot tho

  • Same with me but I love Kayo Dot, I guess I'm such a hipster I can only tolerate "diluted" metal

  • Some of the most complex, yet subtle music I've ever heard.

  • Awesome.

  • mia is amazing!

  • hoooooooooooooooo!!

  • great!

  • excellent

  • Can't imagine anything else but trippin' on this music. Kinda crappy to see/listen to without doin' that.

  • glad to see you can't appreciate experimental music without drugs. it is a little slow in the beginning though.

  • thanks very much for uploading.

  • this stuff is great... showin all the bad european isis-clones what is real kickin...

  • more like gordian knot I would say

  • Kayo Dot is more atmospheric and arty, Gordian Knot more technical and improvisational.

  • i would just like to add that gordian knott concentrates more on their chops and they have this traditional, new age prog/metal/jazz and while Kayo Dot has this wall of sound goin on and has this modern blast and psychedelic "dirge" and improv/clang...and slower too..

Love em both....they are different from each other, thats what i'm sayin....

  • u listen to em? cool! gordian knot...you are the first one that spoke of that group...cheers!

  • Why would you say that fool, that is not just a standard bad comment where someone misinterprets music, it is an insult and a load of shit. I recommend you stop making up false comments about music you would never have the depth to interpret and appreciate you shallow minded fool.

  • go to hell punk ass motherfucker

  • They are incredible.

  • Epic.

  • amazing band, would love to see stuff from their Choirs Of The Eye album

  • OMG THANK YOU

  • seeing them in like 2 hours.
