What a wonderful song and a wonderful singer. Compare his appearance and manner with those on the Eurovision these days. How things have changed, sadly not always for the better. You can't beat a good tune and this is a great tune. How could it not have won?!!! I guess coming second wasn't too bad a night! Thanks for posting this. Great to watch.

Why does the French commentator call it an English song, when it was the entry for the whole of the United Kingdom of Great Britain? I'm Scottish, so as a Citizen of the UK I am represented by it, but I have never been and never will be English.

Brilliant, thank you. We didn't have a TV in 1960, but learned this song at Mexborough St John's C of E School with E B Popple. Brings back many happy memories.
