Almost 10 yrs to the day I adopted her... she passed in my hands. We think she developed a heart problem... she loss use of her foot... from possibly a blood clot. She lost lots of weight and wasn't doing well. (cont...)

I got to say my goodbyes as she snuggled to my cheek.... she certainly was one special little cockatiel that took a very piece of my soul with her when she left this world. I'm still amazed at how many people grew to love EB via the internet.

He already talks, waves, barks and other new things every day :) I can;t imagine how fun he will be in 20 years like yours!

Ahh...so Charlie's an M2. Nice....I like them, too, but Rocky was a steal when I got him and couldn't pass him up! He hated people when I got him, but that was only because the prior owner was neglecting and most likely abusing him. He became a cuddly after just two weeks...from not even wanting to be touched when I first got him. Charlie looks great....
Charlie was 4 yrs old when I got her, she hated me, would bite every chance she got, he loved men just not women. WIth a lot of attention and cuddling she finally kisses me and lets me hug her, she hasnt bitten me in about 2 yrs now so thats a good thing.. takes a lot of patients with these birds...
When I got him the guy said he was about 2, making him about 20. But the vet figures he's mid to late 20's, so I just figure about 27. Rocky is a little spoiled, but he's very independent so if he doesn't want attention he will go play with his toys instead.
No, he's alive and very well. He just has cataracts and is technically blind. He's very important to me and these are some of my favorite photos of him.
I'm on my husbands account but was watching some videos on here... I can't help but comment... I'm not sure I've EVER seen such obvious love... actually I can't even really think of words to describe my emotions ... I too am in tears... WOW... :) Jukiebird

Thank you! But I feel as though I'm the lucky one to have found him! Just a small ad in a local paper, and I lucked out by being the first to respond and take a look. That's all it took...just one look and he had a new home!
I used to do stage shows (educational) with Rocky a few years ago, and one of the reasons I stopped was because a lot of people asked where to get a bird like Rocky.
I felt I may have been misleading people by telling them about Rocky's gently nature, that it was because he was a cockatoo, rather than because he was Rocky. He's a very unique bird, and I truly lucked out with him.
So sorry to hear about Rocky. Find peace in knowing you made him happy and gave him a great home.
