actually i find the wii remote/ nunchuck combo to be by far the most effective in this game. you can pull off the tricks and wheelies by moving it up and down, which you cant do on the gcn controller. i win all the time that way.

Frasher and friends, you can play with just the Wii Remote. The wheel is not required. Trust me. That's what I use, and it controls better.

Plus, Automatic is better than Manual, because the drifting is so much harder than in the other games, especially with the Wii Remote solo, since it takes longer to emit the "boost sparks"; you have to drift for about a second to get the boost afterwards, while in MK64, DD, and, DS, you can get the drifting boost in under a second.

This game would've been so much more enjoyable for me if blue shells and Bullet Bills could be deactivated. It would've also been nice if more than one track (Rainbow Road) actually required some level of skill. Still, 5% of the time, this game is fun as Hell. I hope that the next Mario Kart game is less broken.
