You can easily tell that Rob Nelson is a liberal in drag. He conducts himself in a hectical manner while making indefensible allegations about objective facts.
He also believes that the empty word "independent" gives him some moral superiority. Nobody is ideologically independent. The left-right paradigm might be insufficient to explain complex positions. But not falling into either category doesn't make you "independent" in the true meaning of the word.
