  • This is about Fox News...before there was a Fox News.

  • RIP Sidney Lumet

  • Bullshit never goes out of style.

  • Take note, this is when Hollywood made thought provoking movies. But you have to be capable of critical thinking in order to process it.

  • "I'm bad and smell, and.....DOH!"

  • "What is this, the burning bush? For god-sake I'm not moses, and the voice said 'And I'm not god! What does that got to do with it?'"

    Is a dangerous twisting tool!!!!

God may be with thee brethren

  • hes saying life is bullshit! and it is! so what are you screaming about!

  • Someone explain to me what you would be doing with yourself if we didn't have all this stuff in front of us. 1000% (not just 100, 1000%) of the time anyone that responds to this they say activities that they can already do in this "epidemic". No government means no money means you have to get off your LAZY youtube trolling ass and actually build your house and find your food, which might i add you can STILL DO in certain parts of the nation off-the-grid(google it). So stop bitching.

  • @PistolPeteInc Yeah that works pretty good... that is until the raiders come along and rape your woman, pillage your household and enslave your children.

  • @JuicersSuck how about you try defending them before they get raped? assuming you have the muscle mass and sheer will to defend them

  • Yea the federal reserve is doing so bad they give you all the opportunities to become one of the "corporate scums" you guys like to talk about, just look at what you have in front of you. You have all the tools to do whatever you want in your life, there is endless reading material circulating the web and yet you sit here lazy and bitch on youtube about how "the government runs everything! ZOMG PPLZ YOURE NOT LIZENING TO MEEEE!" If you don't like it live in a cave and see how great your life is.

  • A nation of people that will not use their intelligence are no better than animals that do not have intelligence and thus are steaks on the table by choice and consent.

  • lmao 0:02 "produced by howard gottfried"

  • One of the most powerful and important movies of our time.. Just as relevant today as it was 30 years ago and will be just as relevant 30 years from now.

  • I totally agree this is one of the most important speeches in film!! :-D

  • " I was married to 33 years of shrill shreiking fraud "

  • neh estoy bien encabronado y no soporto mas!

  • The cut the funniest part of the first scene when they are trying to remove Beale on live TV.

  • People were burning their draft cards when this film came out but we still believed our country was not totally corrupt. Now, we know that the snake stinks from the head down. They can murder you in your own bead if they choose. We now have a shell that does not detonate until its in the middle of your room killing everyone. That is what we are doing with our science. Oppenheimer gave us the A bomb.!? The Oppenheimer are International Bankers; have been accused of being in the Illuminati. Therhr

  • this was over 30 years ago.. and STILL today it holds true...IT IS even worst....Thank you Dumb Bush...and the biggest Dick of all.. Cheney...

  • fantastic post i dont care they took our 5 star rating ability i say *****

  • Ive never seen this movie before, i only just learnt about this "im as mad as hell and im not gonna take it anymore" scene 10 mins ago. I gotta say, who ever wrote this scene produced a great intellegent piece of geniusey, cause there's so much truth in it. The greatest heated rant ever made lol.

  • @xxrobfalconxx the seventies covered a lot of hot button issues and the writers across the entertaiment industry were good and putting it all togehter. Very powerful movie and entertaining.

  • it is what society is right now

  • who ever watch this video..please think about it..

It is time to act Who doesnt like world love and peace. 'A change'. But we have to act...a simple act of kindness..... one people at a time, one time a day..

And embrace the Love To become a true human being

  • "There are no nations. There are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no Third Worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems. One vast and immane, interwoven, interacting, multivariate, multinational dominion of dollars. Petrol dollars, electro dollars, multi dollars. Reichsmarks, rins, roubles, pounds and shekels...

  • It is the international system of currency which determines the totality of life on this planet. That is the natural order of things today. That is the atomic... and subatomic and galactic structure of things today. You get up on your little 21-inch screen... and howl about America and democracy. There is no America...

  • There is no democracy. There is only IBM and ITT and AT&T... and DuPont, Dow, Unión Carbide and Exxon. Those are the nations of the worid today. What do you think the Russians talk about in their councils of state?...

  • Karl Marx? They get out linear programming charts, statistical decisión theories, and compute price-cost probabilities of their transactions and investments like us. We no longer live in a worid of nations and ideologies, Mr Beale. The worid is a college of corporations... inexorably determined by the immutable bylaws of business. The world is a business, Mr Beale."

  • Beck - German for "Asshole"???

  • "Im mad as hell and Im not gonna take it anymore"

  • Beck is just annoying. Stossell is much more like Beale.

  • Are you fucking kidding me.......Ahahaha

  • Glen Beck is a wanker.

He is so full of shit and wants to be seen as Beale.

    What an arsehole.

  • @Yehbytheway There is much I don't like about Beck all silly false theatrics...

But he is one one the few that brings forward crimes of wall street and the global warming scamers

  • Beck is a pawn just like all of them. He says what he is paid to say. The real scam is that coal/oil produce poison which we pump into the air. Lobbyists have you talking about whether global warming is real instead of dealing with real life polution that their companies cause. Deforestation, poluted water tables, landfills full of plastic, AN ISLAND OF TRASH FLOATING AROUND THE OCEAN. Global warming isnt what we should be talking about real or not. You have fallen for the distraction.

  • Will agree Beck is a pawn but he is still a person and maybe some of the truths are his...

My young friend if I am a lobbyist so are you however I see myself as a caring citizen.

You require some education maybe start with scientific journals... There are far more trees on the earth now then prior to WWII... As far as I know there is no cleaner cost effective energy source then oil and natural gas.

I also agree with you on the trash island it is a disgrace... global warming is fake.

  • You are still talking about global warming That is my point. Do you like smog? Air pollution? Do you like strip mining? Do you like the undrinkable water that comes from dumping sludge into the water table? Do you like the instability that comes with buying oil from the middle east? There are many other cleaner cost effective energy sources. Coal/oil lobbyists pay to have beck and the likes convince you otherwise. The number of trees is irrelevant. This is an example of how they screw the facts.

  • I am very pro oil and gas my province Alberta supplies your country with largest part of it's domestic supply as per our NAFTA agreement.

What you don't understand is the various problems in all fuels I would litterally have to write a book to explain it all.

On Youtube there is a 40 minute documentry done by the CBC "Global Warming - Doomsday Called Off" please watch it.

You need to get beyond US vs THEM in your thinking it won't serve you well please get better educated.

  • so are olberschmuck and madcow

  • One of the best movies ever made. The actors are fantastic. If this movie was released today for the first time it would still be a hit. Didn't win best picture though, was beaten out by Rocky. Can you imagine that?

  • I love Mr Beale.

  • i love it when people say 'it wasn't that great' - ha ha fucking har - movie's don't get better than this..

  • this movie is great and makes lots of good pionts but as a movie the character development is not that great. the presentation of people are unrealistic and the live of network is bit dramatized.

  • It's satire. It's supposed to be over the top.

  • when the point of the film is great but the characteristic is not so great both mixes up the out come or factor is not convincing as it would be if it was realistic character development. thought it does not mean weak characters, just bit realist.

    that is all.

  • it has really good clips but the movie wasn't that great

  • @theworldofwonder lol well no shit they hire the black panthers to kill the guy to save the ratings ffs

  • of course, the solution we all been looking for all comes up to you know the dark panther or the darknight with gagging breast.

no shit..they hire Beetlejuice, so don't talk shit to me.

  • lol whut? youtards

  • i just have thing toward panthers....yeah, which makes me a pantherist. youtards is one lame word or wanna be word. makes me think of yogurt.

  • Or you're mad at reality, call it what you want.

  • hello Humanoid!!!

  • If you are swimming in bullshit the best thing is to keep your chin up.

  • One of the most intelligent, on point, frighteningly realistic films put to celluloid.

  • I agree. FIlm has the potential to really change the world. It's time that we stop watching nonsense films, these "date-movies" that are pushed on us all. Truly, think back to "Titanic". "Sling Blade" was nominated for best picture that same year. "Titanic" won, a titanic mess. Film, again, could change the world, but studios keep pushing out crap.

  • Sling Blade isn't that great a film. It's really good, not great any means. Movies exist on a whole other universe than the conflicts of real life. It's good film makers don't loose sight of that. If they want to talk about real life then they'll become a lobbyist, if they wanna talk about the movies they'll become a director. Never use one for the other. Btw Titanic was a really good movie, more epic than Sling Blade.

  • I thought about a response to you. I wrote a few. I can't even comment. Your comment is ridiculous. Go read Dostoevsky, read Selby, read Miller - and then tell me "Titanic" is epic in the true sense of epic.

  • I think entertainment is still important. Not all films need an agenda. That being said - Titanic IS a piece of shit.

  • @foofwolf22 it is honestly one of the most brilliant films ive ever seen, its chillingly resonant with todays crumbling economy, pointless media & hollywood generation

  • @joshhanvey Well this film was produced during the Carter administration, and from what I gather from people that were old enough to remember those times, they were worse than now. Although things are going to get really bad soon when inflation kicks in high gear.

  • @JuicersSuck "worse than now" i dont believe during the Carter admin we had 3 wars going on as well as 16 trillion dollar bank bailout and with europe close to default. with idiots like u polluting the gene pool it indeed will get a lot worse.

  • @JuicersSuck Listen carefully there are people who were around in nazi Germany trying to keep from being killed or labeled a jew who say things are now worse in america than then you just don't year about it. when a old woman is pepper sprayed and a young girl loses their unborn child from police brutality it is not better.

  • "And I was married for thirty-three years of shrill, shrieking fraud. So I don't have any bullshit left. I just ran out of it, you see." Howard is a trip. lol

  • Daniel Melnick, who was a producer on this film, as well as "Midnight Express" "Kramer Vs. Kramer" and "The China Syndrome" died today at age 77. He left a lasting effect on cinema, and just wanted to pay my respects to him and to send out my condolences to his family and friends.

  • I was 5 or 6 when this film came out. How much I wish I was 39, like I am now. I would have loved to see this one on the screen, in the text of its time.

  • the god bullshit love it!

  • More truth then ppl can handle...

  • It used to be here.

  • i wish i could find this movie online. i guess ill just have to request it fromt he library.

  • its on google

  • "what is this? the burning bush? im not moses for godsake. and the voice said 'AND IM NOT GOD. what does that got to do with it?"

    fucking hilarious.

  • Anyone know how I can watch this movie?

  • Great movie!

  • great performance.... absolutely true, can u imagine what he would've said about America now in days?

  • I could imagine Howard losing his mind over "reality TV". Can you hear the rant! LOL!!!

  • if you like this film check out the video response above!!!!

  • ironically, this is Sept. 22!!!!! and Howard has it by the balls.

  • we don't vote for our president, we have the "Electoral College" (ie, people behind the curtain who pull the strings for us and cancel out our votes).

This guy makes me want to scream out the window! great stuff

  • Without the Electoral College, we would have NY and CA choosing the President for the other 48 states.

  • Nooo...because of the electoral college, those two states have heavier influence than other states. Without it, everybody would have one vote. How could you possibly come to that conclusion?

  • Nooo aibangmaini...if every person had one vote, then larger states would have a much heavier influence. 5-6 states alone make up half the US population. The electoral college prevents a few states from dictating the course of the rest. If the US population were evenly distributed among the 50 states then one person one vote would work. However this is not the case so the electoral college is the best way to aggregate votes based on the number of senators and representatives each state has.

  • Reps, yes - each state has two senators. If the popular vote in a state like NY goes Democratic in the college (which is pretty much always the case) by a 52% margin, then presumably millions of Republican and other party votes are lost. If they were counted, then a 52%-48% split within the state would keep things a lot closer than in the "winner take all" state of the electoral college. The geographic location and population density therein would be irrelevant if all votes were equal.

  • Population density has EVERYTHING to do with the concept of all votes equal. The people in CA and NY would virtually eliminate any influence from states such as AK, HI, MT, ND, SD, etc. The same reason why each state has two senators is why we must keep, embrace, and preserve the Electoral College.

  • Anyone here that hasn't seen the documentary "Zeitgeist", WATCH IT NOW.

Type Zeitgeist into the search bar and you'll understand everything, this film is but the tip of the iceberg.

  • Why does it seem like so many people have idea's and want to change this world but none of us follow though? Why is nobody trying to take power away from the government and the corporations and the banks and the federal reserve and every institution in this world? They have all lied to us, religious, business, government, everyone's lied. So many people know and won't do shit. We're all fucked.

  • Welcome to the New America. You have to understand how this country works. You are valued only by how much money you make and spend. Match capitalism with the corruption, and you have America. Obama has the right idea about reigning in Capitalism obsession, but his alternative is far worse. I'd rather have our dysfunctional gov't than a King Obama, anyday. MMA, we are not fucked. We just spend too much time obsessing about fucking. A democratic country deserves the leadership they choose.

  • because were all economic slaves.. we need to go to work! :(

  • Cause we have wishes. Wishes are the CAUSE for all economic acting. You have wishes and they become concrete needs. These needs have to be sadisfied. BUT the companys in this world can only sadisfy your material needs. Everything else does not matter cause you can´t buy love and so on... Life is business. That´s so true. I am currently doing an apprenticeship to a salesman assistant. It´s crazy. The human being is being treated like a THING. It´s a shame.

  • Anybody who has tried ends up dead, imprisoned for life, or confined to a mental institution. Only when we collectively figure out we outnumber them hundreds or even thousands to one and unite will be able to make the much needed lasting changes necessary for our nation and its people to flourish.

  • Beale: "I would like at this moment to announce that I will be retiring from this program in two weeks time because of poor ratings. Since this show is the only thing I had going for me in my life, I've decided to kill myself. I'm going to blow my brains out right on this program a week from today. So tune in next Tuesday. That should give the public relations people a week to promote the show. You ought to get a hell of a rating out of that. Fifty share, easy."

  • this is insanely funny. this is the way the world is going to play out. WOW.

  • I agree. I was probably 6 years old when this film came out. What has happened to our country? I mean, truly, AIDS, conservatives, I mean... well, shit. I was reading the moving section of the paper the other day and there's a section that describes what goes on in the film, if it's appropriate of not. This country is a bunch of finks, as William Borroughs said.

  • "I don't have any bullshit left, I just ran out of it, ya see?" Beautiful.

  • The key to human freedom lies within the destruction of the federal reserve. It is the most advanced ponzi scheme the world has ever known, and we are the suckers. Every war the US has been in was entered solely in the interest of profit. Not freedom, not saving innocent lives, only for profit. The fed and the gov want its citizens to be dumb and poor. That way people wont challenge the system. Its time to have a social change. Its time for a revoultion. Its time to join the Zeitgeist movement.

  • right on brother

  • Good Comment. Have you read "1984"? There's a great passage where Orwell discusses how a character will be killed by the government because he is too smart. This country is in a mess. It's just a mess.

  • @gonzogoodskil Amen to that. Its the reason why the US Dollar is dying. Why we believe scarcity exists when it doesnt. Why there is a rich and poor, and why we have no choice but to go out and find jobs to pay off the debt we owe to those wall street thugs and bankers who run that fraudulent institution.

  • @gonzogoodskil And if you manage to get rich then the fear of being made poor keeps most rich people from speaking up.

  • @gonzogoodskil You really think that's all it would take? Get rid of the Fed? You're delusional. Take out one economic superpower and another will rise to take its place. Remove the government and some corporation will inevitably become just as strong and will steer the country based on profit just the same way. The true key to human freedom is to eliminate wealth altogether. Give the world back to the people who run it, not the corporate scum who own it.

  • @gonzogoodskil this person speaks the truth

AND IM MAD AS HELL AND NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANY MORE !

  • @bmx3r102 14

  • @gonzogoodskil It's not all about profit. It's also about power. It's not just to keep us dumb & poor, it's to enslave us. It's not time for a revolution, it's time for evolution. Evolution of consciousness. It's not time to join TZM. Form your own movement. TZM & TVP are BS. Jacques Fresco is a rip off merchant.

  • I'm as weird as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore

  • a lot of george carlin in this i am tapping his inspo

  • I don't think the screen play was inspired by George Carlin! Quite possibly the other way round.

  • I love Rocky, but between Network and Taxi Driver? I mean, come on!!! Rocky is a great fantasy, but the other two, well, here's where man goes when he has lost it all.

  • Yeah, too true. Rock was a great film, but this was clearly the best film of '76.

  • Take me to the middle of the George Washington Bridge!

  • Don't do it buddy, your young, you have your whole life ahead of you!!!!

  • i will never think of the name hackett the same after this

  • Life is bullshit.

  • WRONG!

  • I'd say there are definite elements of black comedy. publica74 is half right..

  • Elements, yes, but far from a comedy!

  • wonder why your comment got 4 thumbs downs because it's actually true that network was a satirical comedy that emphasizes stereotype in TV business

  • This sooooooo reflects the truth. More people are concerned about programs like " Britain's got Talent " this shows how much brainwashing and diversion people really are influenced by the box. Throw your telly away.

  • ...because people dont wanna know the truth...

  • @bocckoka

because they cant handle the truth.. better to watch Family Guy..... Peanut Butter jelly Time... damned if you do damned if you dont...

PROGRAMMING... i think you could answer questions based on lines from tv and movies. I just did.

  • "Cause your tv dummy." - Thats the voice that talked to David Icke

  • Hacket, go fuck yourself, prick! LOL

  • Network 1976 The most important moments Pt. 1 start @ 6:00mins in

  • 4:00 - 4:04

"Mr. hacket is trying to get through to you."

"Tell Mr. Hacket to go fuck himself!"

  • Well, I think the elite made a miscalculation. They assumed he was doing a performance, theatre, and would keep to the role by accepting that it is not the reality. It wasn't so, because he spoke honestly and passionately against the network. So the network just marginalized him and nothing changes in the world.

  • yes thanks for putting this up, this movie is a masterpiece of truth

  • I really want to see this movie.

I found a clip of it in Zeitgeist and it interests me so much. But i never see it anywhere (i.e.: stores, rent movies, etc.)

Does anyone know where to find it online, or even on Youtube?

  • ....Netflix? I saw it on TV...AMC I believe, and I think they play it fairly often...

  • netflix like the dvd rental?

    no, cuase i don't have a card.

i also meant to say to avoid that as well. i dont have a credit card; i'm underaged.

and i'm not spoiled so i can't use my parent's.

but i have cable, i'll look for it on tv, thanks :D.

  • google video just search network and look for the longest duration

  • Faye was beautiful in this movie

  • My favorite movie ever!!!!!

    That God blesses this movie!

  • i think? i do recignize the charcs. but i only now hiragana and katakana not kanji could be chinese they of course have similar charcters.

  • it's japanese

  • "Are they yelling in Atlanta?" LOL

  • Originally an Asian version? What kind of question is that?

  • What do you mean "what's up with the subtitles?" They exsist so that people can watch movies in a language they do not understand, or didn't you know that? LOL Just because you and I speak english, it doesn't mean everyone else does.

  • faye dunaway used to be one fine specimen.

  • You are absolutely damn right on that one baby. Wow, Holy Mother of God that broad was smokin' hot in this flick.

  • good
