I have a crate 350 in my nova with four inch side pipes and mufflers with the soul purpose of resisting back flow. the noise is unreal, absolutely deafening. But I've never been pulled over. @EceipSsehc That's not me, or my car, or my video... But it is killer car. Motor mounts in MX5s are the same as the FC, simple swap.
Unless you've got 14,000 to spend on an FD I might reconsider that ambition. They're gorgeous and amazing cars, but most FD owners know what they've got and don't let them go cheaply. A built FD3S can go for $25,000 easily. check out RX7club dotcom if you're seriously interested in rotaries though. I've owned two FBs, and still have one, and my DD is an RX8.

If you want the muffler to last longer and still shoot fire all day, then get a chambered muffler, or a 100% steel wool packed muffler. Rotaries will melt a fiberglass filled muffler's internals and make it into a straight pipe. Make sure a steel wool one is 100%, a few manufacturers say they're steel wool, but are a steel wool/fiberglass mix

And this video is of a "13B Miata" just as it says in the title. The standard Miata engine is either the 1.6L or 1.8L depending on if its made before or after 1994 respectfully.

yes i have, i have rebuilt them before, they are just like any other engine when you put highboost through them, NO different than when you blow rings or a head gasket or spin a rod bearing or drop a valve, the reason why a rotary engine isnt common place it 1 Mazda owns it 2 bad on gas 3 very difficult to get to pass emissions. The only thing that Ever goes wrong with a rotary is when you get Knock which is bad FOR ANY ENGINE, they are just more sensitive to it Mustangs do not compare to rx7's

rotory motors transfer power far better then any piston engine thats why is if had identicle torque and horse with piston engine and a rotory the rotory will take off faster the have far better throttle response and try and find a motor with only 2L that can push over 1500horse hahaha

rotary doesn't "transfer power better" power is power. In fact the rotary engine would have a weaker power band since it is peaky whereas something like a v8 would make damn near peak torque throughout the entire rpm range.

@boardinrider maybe 100k exactly.. if you're lucky. ever cracked open a rotary engine before? the seals on the triangular piston aren't meant to last. nothing beats a cylindrical combustion engine. stop trying to defend a losing argument. if rotaries were all that they're cracked up to be, then why haven't they replaced the conventional engine. oh also to your comment on southern people, i myself are from michigan. and yes iroc z's are cool. but i drive a mustang gt.

yes i have, i have rebuilt them before, they are just like any other engine when you put highboost through them, NO different than when you blow rings or a head gasket or spin a rod bearing or drop a valve, the reason why a rotary engine isnt common place it 1 Mazda owns it 2 bad on gas 3 very difficult to get to pass emissions. The only thing that Ever goes wrong with a rotary is when you get Knock which is bad FOR ANY ENGINE, they are just more sensitive to it Mustangs do not compare to rx7's

@disastercatastrophe.. dude my first gen has over 350k... GG... they're just like any engine. A well maintained rotary will last just as long as a well maintained piston. and ps. they aren't "Triangular pistons" They are Rotors... A ROTARY engine doesn't have PISTONS.

rotory motors transfer power far better then any piston engine thats why is if had identicle torque and horse with piston engine and a rotory the rotory will take off faster the have far better throttle response and try and find a motor with only 2L that can push over 1500horse hahaha

rotary doesn't "transfer power better" power is power. In fact the rotary engine would have a weaker power band since it is peaky whereas something like a v8 would make damn near peak torque throughout the entire rpm range.
