  • It's videos like this that make the Chicago Cubs, while futile, far different from other MLB teams. Wrigley Field is one of a kind. The fan base is like non other in pro sports. Utter commitment to the team, for life. It's more than a sport to Cubs fans. It's our lifestyle and that's something worth far more than 10 World Series championships in my opinion!

  • the commercial voice-over is, i THINK, David Doyle, of Charlie's Angels fame.

  • Harry was the best. I could always tell he was drinking some cold ones during the game.

  • i'm born and raised in southern california . . . but i've been a cub fan all my life (loved ernie banks!!) . . . when harry died i got choked up for days . . . if you loved the cubs, you loved harry . . . i'm not looking forward to vin scully's last game . . . his voice has been the soundtrack for southern california summers for 50 years . . .

  • man, now i want a bud light

  • @ChiSox2386 -- actually, he started w/ the Cardinals, and the old St. Louis Browns, way back in 1945.

  • May had started as a white sox broadcaster but He always Be Mr Cub to all his fans.....

  • The Cubs need to bring a Caray back to the booth (Chip Caray). The announcers now suck!

  • I agree with you but I would bet that's not going to happen.

  • @brandogb1 No Chip is with my team!!

  • can some1 get me a bud lite

  • Let's get some runs!!!!!!!!!!!!

    MISS YA HARRY!

  • I almost had to sing along, watching this. It was fun watching the people sing on TV and even more fun when I got to go there to sing.

When I'm having a bad day, telling myself "Hey! Let's get some runs!" still works surprisingly well.

  • I went to a Cubs game as a freshman in high school, and one of my fondest memories is singing the song with Harry Caray. When he passed away, I was truly sad. He was a legend, and such a wonderful broadcaster. Thanks for the video!

  • yeah, and it all started on the southside! Go Sox!

  • Actually, it all started in the Garden Of Eden, but that's another story. Nothing good ever starts on the South side of Chicago.

  • ok... but Harry Caray really did start singing "take me out to the ballgame" during the seventh inning streach when he was a White Sox broadcaster. You can't deny that.

  • Nope, I can't deny that. He just meant more to the Cubs and their fans than the Sox. God bless you Harry!

  • As a lifelong Yankee fan who's completely impartial to the Cubs/Sox rivalry, I must say that I like the clips of him doing this at the old Comiskey with Nancy Faust better. Nancy was also pretty hot back then.

  • @sxsder24 It actually all started In St. Louis, as a Cubs fan I take Pride in knowing the whole history of a Legend.

  • @sxsder24 It actually all started In St. Louis.

  • @sxsder24 He Started in St. Louis

  • @sxsder24 I thought he was with the Cards before the sox...

  • Does those old games take me back. Harry Caray one of a kind individual God certainly broke the mold when Harry was born. Between this him being ripped during the games innings 7-9. And the battles between him and Steve Stone about cigars LMFAO we miss ya Harry

  • I liked this organ better than the organ they play now. I think they switched the organ some time in the late 80's.

  • The seventh inning stretch just isn't the same without him.

  • Harry will always be a legend, cubs are doing great right now, and I am sure he would be proud

  • Go Harry We Miss You

  • what a great feeling it is to see this video. it brought a tear to my eye as well. i grew up watching harry and steve stone on wgn. god i miss watching those summer day games and listening to harry. he will forever be missed.

  • Yeah, I miss Harry and Steve. As someone who doesn't live in the Chicago area, I also miss Cubs games period. Back in the day, WGN aired virtually all the games. Now it's like 30% of the games. Heck, they seem to air more White Sox games than Cubs games.

  • I want a copy of this game.

Long live Harry. GO CUBS GO!

  • LONG LIVE HARRY!!!

  • for it's root root root for the CUBBIES

IF THEY DON'T WIN IT'S A SHAME. FOR IT'S 1! 2! 3 STRIKES YER OUT AT THE OLLLL BALLLLL GAAME!!!

  • Amen brother!

  • some of my best childhood memories are of my grandpa taking me to see cubs baseball games. our favorite part of the game was when harry caray would do the 7th inning stretch. nothing can beat being around other fans, singing/yelling "take me out to the ball game". some of the best times of my life. no one will ever be able to take harry's place. he was, is, and forever will be the best!!!

  • that's exactly what my dad says

  • I agree with you 100%!!! Definitley some of the best memories of my life.

  • i kinda started 2 cry a lil bit. good times. good memories.

  • They WERE good times...even if we DIDN'T win a World Series we still rooted for our Cubs WITH Harry!

  • are lives are so much richer for having experienced his broadcasts. thanks harry caray

  • His sprits is never die and I hope there is another man can match him at Wrigley Field. The fans need such a man.

  • Ron and Pat.

  • That's good that today fans and celebrities are contuning Harry Caray's famous 7th inning strech.

  • Cubs are the best Nobody in the right mind likes the White Sox

  • But at least we don't screw up a world series trip like Cub fan Steve Bartman did in 2003.Nobody with half a brain would do that to his favorite team.Go SOX!!!

  • HARY KARRY! lol i think its carry?

  • GO CUBBIES!!!

    RIP - HARRY!!!

    Miss ya!

  • God love him!!!

  • i always made it a point to make it to the seventh inning stretch of those dreadful cub games just to see if harry cary's drunken ass would fall out of that booth RIP harry i still miss him

  • God I remember that old bud light commercial, I had to have been 5 or 6 then

  • cards were the best in 85, whiteyball

  • Nothing beats this! Go Cubs!

  • GOD BLESS YOU HARRY !! GO CUBBIES !

  • They were the NL east champs, the divisions were way different back them.

  • Harry Carey was the best! Grew up watching him. The seventh inning stretch just doesn't sound right with any team other then "Cubbies" in it

  • Let's get some runs!!!

  • It's 85. Harry called the Cubs the NL east champs

  • it's the first game of 85 - the year after they won the division.

  • its because there were only eastern and western divisions back then. all the teams in each league were put into those two.

  • What year is this? Can't be later than 86 because of the old Pirates logo at the beginning.

  • awesome,i love these historic clips of culture. too bad you don't see this kind of good ol fashioned entertainment at stadiums anymore.

  • thanks so much for this! nice to see some actual footage on youtube, and not someone's bad impersonation.

  • what can I say...PRICELESS!
