You should try out for DT since Mike left (I know it sucks). Do like Labrie did and if they are auditioning and Mike doesnt come back just send in a tape. You're plenty perfect covering mike's originals, the only question would be about ur own originals but I'm sure you're still really great

@jcelso6232 Or....It's mostly in 5/8. The 8/8 and 7/8 you are counting is the same as 3 measures of 5/8. Most of this first section of the song is in 5.

@gspot27 You are absolutely correct. I am referring to what Mike said about this section at a drum clinic on how he "phrased" the 5/8 measures. You lose the "one" accent when you count it all out in 5/8. Seriously though you have some of the best drum covers of DT material I have ever seen on YouTube. Kudos my friend.

It is a little bit of both. Depending on what type of pattern is needed. The faster it is, the more heel down I play. Normal playing is almost always heel up.
