I saw a show some years ago about obese children some of the 2 and 3 yr old crawling on the floor were already so overweight that they couldn't stand their legs just couldn't support them. Put the parents on probation if the children don't start losing weight then remove the children.

They were raped,abused in some homes..even without that they never had a stable family.They got no mother instincts. They have babies that end up in the system. They are clueless about real family love.

@signalfire6 This is true but there are also kids who have been abused and killed by their own parents .Their are also kids who grow up in caring and loving foster home.

I hope someone is getting the kid medical care to make sure that his appetite isn't being caused by something medically unusual, like hormonal or neurological issues. Sometimes, it's not the parent's fault. There are even medical conditions that force people to eat salt constantly, and deprived of it (for their own good, of course) they die.

@dmhappy2777 THe state MUST protect kids from bad parents. Who gives a shit if the parents feel this is state interference! its about the safety and well being of the child first and foremost! You would rather see a child beaten, abused, left to fend for themselves? Advocating child protection does NOT mean advocating a nanny state. If the parents are capable of making changes themselves to improve the childs quality of life and are WILLING.... then it might be a diiferent story.

@dmhappy2777 If a child is being mistreated by the parents, willfully or negligently, then somebody needs to step in for the sake of the child! I would prefer regulated professionals over nothing.Taking a child away is the last resort when the parents have been proven incapable. CPS will always try work with the parents first and afterwards to reunite the family. What you advocate is anarchy. How can the defenseless be defended if their are no rules or accountability in society?

Was in a shop last thursday when a mother of about 300lbs(!) was buying some chocolate. Her son looked like the kid from Bad Santa but bigger. He only wanted one bar, but the mother INSISTED he get another 2 because they were on special offer.....she also got 3 bars for herslef. Kids don't stand a chance with parents like these.
