Hey thanks for sharing your video. I too am a binge eater/Compulsive eater but only just came out. I have been to embarrassed to admitt it before but i have now just started a video diary too. Only got one video up for now but please watch and follow me on my journey. Peace and love Lola xxx
It is really comforting to see someone talk about binge eating and emotional eating i do the same thing i know its an eating disorder. Sometimes i feel like the only thing i have to look forward to is the next salty fattening meal i get to eat. It feels like a drug high and so i just KEEP eating. I hide it from my roommates i like to do it in private i can eat for hours at a time, a whole large pizza or ive ordered 2 take out dinners like the other one is for someone else but its all for me..
I think it is very brave to post this - but I am sure it is comforting to the many who suffer. I work with a lot of people who have similar problems. If it's helpful to anyone, I have written an e-book, based on my experience with clients, who encouraged me to write it. At the moment, it is completely free to download. I don't want to break any protocols on this page by adding a link, but if you are interested, you can find it on any search for me with binge eating.
You need to have some confidence girl!! you are beautiful, go for walks. Fuck the food. I just binged, though I normally don't; once or twice a month or so but I want to decrease it to once or twice a year.
I too am an emotional eater : (. I understand exactly how you feel, hon. You are very beautiful and lovely and I thank you so much for sharing this with us. It's nice to know that I'm not alone.
The reason you binged is because if you are dieting yourself eventually your body will FORCE you to have more calories. Also if you are dieting and you lose weight you will typically gain weight afterwards cause you go back to the way you used to eat. One of my friends got really thin a few months ago and put half of it back on quickly after. I'm so poor atm that I can't over eat, how lucky am I... kinda. :P PS, I am going to steal your cute dog. o.o
if ur switching between salt and sweets ur leaving something out of ur diet u need to actually go see a diet doctor and get a good plan so ur body is not going to give u more issues til u destroy it.
THank you so much for your honesty!..I am an emotional eater too! and you do realize that when you are trying to take care of yoursefl and you are becoming healthier, when you do eat in access u feel so terrible afterwards...I applaud you sharing with us
Maybe this will help you feel better. I don't know where this was originally posted online but it's an example of what might be called a See-Food diet.
Breakfast: half an unsweetened grapefruit, 2 slices of whole wheat toast , dry, and 8 oz. skim milk.
Lunch: 4 oz. lean broiled chicken breast, 1 cup steamed spinach, 1 cup herbal tea, and 1 Oreo cookie.
Mid-afternoon snack: The rest of the Oreo cookies in the package, 2 pints Rocky Road ice cream with extra chocolate sprinkles, and 3 Milky Way candy bars.
Dinner: 2 loaves of garlic bread and 1 extra-large cheese pizza with everything on it.
11:00 evening news: entire frozen cheesecake eaten directly from the freezer.
My mouth was gaping at this video, because I literally do the same thing you do. Particularly the salty-sweet thing. I had never heard of anyone else but me doing that so I was shocked. I will probably subscribe to you now, haha. Not because you aren't a miracle worker but it inspirational to see someone going thru similar mistakes but still making progress towards a goal. You can do it!
@ByeByeBelly my friend, don´t lose hope and focus. Food is an addiction because of all the chemicals processed food has. I was 248lbs. I decided to make a change. even if I lose weight very slowly I won´t give up. I´m addicted to food too and it is very difficult to quit so I have switched to a raw food diet I feel great (believe me I always binged and then feel guilty all the time) I dont feel guilty if I overeat because Im overeating fruits. I have lost 35 pounds already. I recommend it.
I don't know what it's like to binge...I am an emotional non-eater. Anything upsets me, I can't eat at all. Maybe to help you be in a better mood, find a hobby. Something you'd ENJOY doing. I like to go shopping at thrift(second-hand) stores and find stuff to fix up/make. Gets me out of the house and also gives me something to do!(w/o breaking my wallet)... What has helped me the most is having my daughter. Now I always have something to do!
It happens to the best of us, but don't beat yourself up over it.
The best advice I can give you is to eat more frequently (6 meals - Breakfast, snack, Lunch, snack, Dinner, snack) and if you have a craving, don't ignore it because you WILL binge later down the road...just eat a small portion of it in order to satisfy your cravings.
You are being way too harsh on yourself. Binging doesn't have to leave you feeling bad, enjoy it, get it out of your system and move on. Make binges a part of your plan so you are controlling them, not them controlling you. You are on a very calorie restrictive plan (btw sleeping is one of the most efficient fat burners) so it wont massively affect your diet. Look at how well you have done and be proud of it!
I like how you're really open about this. I too, am a binge eater and Its VERY difficult for me to stop. Usually after a major binge, i OVER exercise. I sometimes work out intensely for 2 hours straight. It is NOT healthy. I totally understand. I'm doing a weight loss challenge and I've started two days ago. I just really want to kick this eating disorder to the curb. Thank you for posting this!
It's a good sign that your body is rejecting that binge. As time goes on the binges will be less frequent, takes time to form a habit :) Hope you're feeling better!
its to do with ur relationship with food, thats the key, forget calories and diets

Yeah, it's important to find other things to do. I only stop eating due to emotional stress if I'm extremely disturbed/depressed

@TabMcgee Im the exact same way. when i am mad or sad i don't eat at all. i just lose my appetite.
