How to COLOR your drawing in Photoshop

are you lines in pencil or pen? do you have to make sure the lines are very clean before you colour onto them? How about toning? Do you do it with pencil?

hey man I tried doing this on CS5 but when i upload the scanned image, all the colors just go to a grey scale so I can't use any of them normally. I have no idea why it happens, mind if i can get some help?

@njr689 ah! This problem happens often :D

It's really simple.. When you are on your Photoshop with your 'gray scale' image..

Go to the top IMAGE panel, click MODE and then click RGB Color

There, you should have your colors back.

i already tried what u said but when i shared it to facebook,it turn out pictures with no original lines>>only the colour appears>>so how ?

@liyanadancer Make sure your 'new layer' where your color is!, is on MULTIPLY 'mode'

Cool tutorial. The multiply later is deffently essential to coloring line artwork in photoshop. Overall the drawing turned out well. It was helpfull.
