Madonna could study opera in her early days, and be a great operatic mezzo, or even a soprano. She has a really amazing low register, and operatic singers with dark voice are the best. I think its too late to improve her voice, she is 52. Operatic singers start training at the age of 13 or 16.

You know what? I give Madonna a LOT of crap for her (lack of) voice, but that C3 and Eb3 from the same song were beautiful and that B4-C#5 thing was actually powerful. Her lower head voice notes are great and that belted D5 (second one) was so strong! She sounded like Streisand! I'll continue my comment later.

@kouldeliee Mariah did not lose her voice (otherwise she couldn't talk, let alone sing). Some of Mariah's recent performances have been VERY good (such as Make It Happen). She is still capable of power, she's just inconsistent in the upper chest. And you're forgetting about the other parts of her voice, like low register, head voice and whistle all of which have improved with time.

Madonna could study opera in her early days, and be a great operatic mezzo, or even a soprano. She has a really amazing low register, and operatic singers with dark voice are the best. I think its too late to improve her voice, she is 52. Operatic singers start training at the age of 13 or 16.

You know what? I give Madonna a LOT of crap for her (lack of) voice, but that C3 and Eb3 from the same song were beautiful and that B4-C#5 thing was actually powerful. Her lower head voice notes are great and that belted D5 (second one) was so strong! She sounded like Streisand! I'll continue my comment later.

Now, she has certainly surprised me with her voice on this video and I now know that she does have (some) vocal talent, but Mariah is still echelons above her, vocally and musically. Speaking on emotion, Madonna is certainly capable of singing with passion, but Mariah is as well.

@kouldeliee A Vocalist is someone who is known for their voice. Madonna is not known for her voice but for her choreography and costumes in her shows. Mariah is known primarily for her voice. And Mariah does not lip all the time (or even half the time).

@kouldeliee Mariah did not lose her voice (otherwise she couldn't talk, let alone sing). Some of Mariah's recent performances have been VERY good (such as Make It Happen). She is still capable of power, she's just inconsistent in the upper chest. And you're forgetting about the other parts of her voice, like low register, head voice and whistle all of which have improved with time.

Mariah can actually sing Anytime You Need a Friend? You're so cold? If its over? Emontions in Key unique? Today in old songs she just sings it was whispered, such as Hero and songs when she raspy her voice like Make Happen ... none in that sang loud and strong ...

Last year she came here and was disappointed at all to do playback on all songs.... just 3 songs lipped. who cant sing 3 songs live? The madonna came here and did a tour of shows and cantu everything live and were about 5 big show and not only three songs ... and they all said that she still has the same beautiful voice of the movie Evita
