this is the specs of the pc im getting next month what do you think ,CPU Intel Core i7 860 (4 x 2.80GHz) 8 MB 4.8GT/sMotherboard Intel DP55WB (Intel P55) Memory Corsair 4GB XMS3 PC3-10666 1333MHz (2x2GB) - (DDR3) Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 - 1792 MB - 2xDVI/VGA (MSI) Power Supply 350W PSU
Looks like you will have a pretty sweet PC. The only thing that I would change would be the motherboard. Im not a big fan of Intel motherboards. I like Asus and Gigabyte. But that is just my opinion. It will be a badass PC regardless.
I could but being the smart man I am you never jump into an investment like that when newer technologies and products are coming. At the rate of obsolescence it is probably not wise to get high end products all at once. I've got a list of reasons why : i9 is coming and is 1366 compatible, DDR3 3000 is coming, GT 300 series from Nvidia, ATI has something cooking up which will probably release faster than Nvidia. Blue Ray drives are only 8x! Until they get 24x it really isn't worth the money.
hay man good video. I have the GTX 275 super clocked to but I have the 896 MB version. what is the difference in performance between the 1792mb and the 896mb? does more memory allow for better performance? or is it just better for a bigger monitor?.
Some games utilize GPU memory better than others. So generally it depends on the game. A good example would be GTA IV. The memory your GPU has the better for that particular game. Generally more memory is better for higher resolutions. But as far as performance goes you might see a small increase. not much.
thanks for the reply its funny you said GTA IV I have that game and I can max out everything but my detail distance because I run out of memory but it still looks awsome.
nice, i was going to step up my 9600 gt for a gtx 260 for a 104 dollar discount, but i changed my mind, and im going to build my friend a gaming rig with my 9600 gt, and im going to get an hd 5870 or just a 5850 sometime after it comes out.
really? i didn't know that. thats awesome. ya, i can't wait to get one, ive been slacking on upgrading my video card, doing something you should never do with computers: waiting for the next best thing, because theres always something better just around the corner. you've just gotta bite your lips and go with it. but ya, do you know when they will be hitting shelves?
I think they will be in stores by the end of the month. I think somewhere I read around September 23rd is the date you should be able to buy them. They should be out before the release of Windows 7 on October 22nd.
in most games yes, but at lower resolutions the hd 4890s would win. Remember though both graphics cards are getting better and better drivers so I cannot say for sure.
they go neck and neck, i'd go with whichever is cheaper or with whichever brand you like better. they really do perform neck and neck, within 1-2% of each other usually. i would save your money until hd 5000 comes out, or until gt300 comes out next year.
Damn! 1 amazing card! As far as vids go, I'd like to see the build while it's being build! I guess step by step in time lapse! Well, any way you do it; I'm looking forward to the vids! 5/5
Where is the building video?!?!?

is the ssc 275 better than gtx285?
jazevoo 2 years ago
I would've gotten this card but I was unsure on the size because my case only fits up to 10.5' cards and 11' if I really wanted to stretch it.
TheMastroAntonio 2 years ago
Yeah this card was a beast. Not the longest card out there though.

jonthrei321 2 years ago
i was thinking that, what do you think should i go for a 450w or 660w
xSILENTxHEAVENx 2 years ago
350w psu? LOL
poisonr 2 years ago
The minimum recomended PSU for the 275 is 500W or above, so be carefull.
jonathansp 2 years ago
yeah i got a 650w
xSILENTxHEAVENx 2 years ago
@xSILENTxHEAVENx
LOL wtf all that on a 350w PSU am im reading that right. Dude you need at least a quality 550w to run that. I would get a quality 650w to be safe

Will this card fit in a Apevia X-Jupiter? I have heard it is a huge card and does not fit well in most cases is this true?
BAYCITYAIRSOFT 2 years ago
It should fit just fine. I would have to double check on the length of the card but it isn't the longest card I have seen.

pentium?? otherwise yea but pentium? seriously?

Everything looks pretty decent the only things I would frown upon would be the Pentium CPU, Intel Mobo and Maxtor HDD.

No the 300 series, namely the 375! When are they going to get it together and compete with AMD/ ATI!

XFX GeForce GTX 275 Core Edition any good ???

I haven't worked with it but i'm sure it is just as good as the SC version here just slightly less performance gains.

Yes, you can run this graphics card in Windows 7. There are Win7 drivers already released by nVidia.

dude, the 1792 version's current performance does not differ enough from the 896 version for the price!
