  • So what's the point of an interview without audio ?

  • Is that Avatar Studios in NY?

  • I just started listening to this, and it sounds like Frank Zappa,or someone trying to sound like him! It's not Frank but whoever it is,likes Zappa! it's lacking to much abstractness to be Zappa.

  • I just started listening to this, and it sounds like Frank Zappa,or someone trying to sound like him! It's not Frank but whoever it is,likes Zappa!

  • @Eddieguitarloebs thats what i thought like stink foot song by zappa

  • I just started listening to this, and it sounds like Frank Zappa,or someone trying to sound like him!

  • My favorite Clapton CD but I don't even think this song is on the album. Misleading title?

  • @eqsmooth The audio track is from Garrick Davis and the song is called GD Blues. Mr Davis actually has an YouTube account

  • Interview? It´s only boring music!

  • owns any guitar he plays!

  • Damn, where is fu*king sound?

  • Ok Mayer is not Clapton I'll give you that I don't really care for his vocals personally but the boy does have talent. To say he can't play guitar is an extremely inaccurate statement John Mayer can play guitar and then some. I am not an advocate or a fan of his but lets be truthful here he can play very well.

  • check out his live "change the world" video and notice the comments. It's so refreshing to see not a single comment to be about an argument or some stupid idea someone is trying to prove. Just complete awe and admiration of his music and his life. please stop and do what you came here to do. Listen, and enjoy

  • People come here just to talk shit on Clapton? Hahaha!!

  • 0:22 .....is there a dog inside the studio?? :D cool

  • Why do people have to argue on fucking videos? Just shut the fuck up

  • @xlogit3k For realz!!

  • this video is pointless...u cant hear what hes saying at all

  • @Lizzardpeople There was nothing in that comment that was substantiated. It was without substance. So I don't really see any point in arguing it. I'll give you the last word. Go ahead and respond again with yet another waste of space comment, then call it quits.

  • @Lizzardpeople I Didn't say you required my permission or even imply it. Apparently you can not read along with being incapable of any worthwhile criticism of music. Maybe now it's starting to come clear to you why I'm finding hard to take you seriously? Probably not.

  • @Lizzardpeople You are welcome to your opinion. Just don't expect everyone to agree or take it seriously every time.

  • Dont interview Mr Clapton! Just let him PLAY!! :D

  • @Lizzardpeople yes eric clapton is a racist. That doesn't take away from his art any more than it does from any other historical artist. We aren't giving him our attention because of his moral values. We just respect the music. Who exactly are you arguing with that claimed Eric Clapton was a great moral teacher? Or are you just bringing up irrelevant points?

  • @boorens18 I just don't get it. If he was a racist, why would he do all of these shows with B.B King and Buddy Guy like on the crossroads festival.. He was also a close friend of Jimi Hendrix if my memories are correct.

  • @joakim456 I don't get it either especially since I actually read the thing from an official site he really said tons of racist shit. Which really sucks because he is one of my favorite people.

  • I would like to know;Is ERIC CLAPTON A RACIST ? I like his music and I've always liked him;but in these days and times,we have NO place for that.So I want to know;IS ERIC CLAPTON A RACIST ?

  • @Lizzardpeople Im sorry but because the roots of blues lie in black history, doesn't mean they "own" blues. For you to say that black musicians "own blues" is in and of itself racist. Rather ironic.

  • I THOUGHT THIS WAS A FUCKING INTERVIEW!

  • I just read on the Layla video that he went into a racist anti-black rant back in 1976. Man, Eric, say it isn't so my man. I checked into it and it is true as the day. What do I do with all my Eric Clapton vinyls now? I don't want to support a racist but the things he said were pretty bad - actually awful. He said blacks had no place in white Britain. What would Bob Marley think? Man my head is in a spin and my gut is just punched man. Eric man, not you! Racism sucks. I'm crushed.

  • LOL i totaly thought that was a porno clapton was looking though at the start

  • That's the legendary Olympic Studios in London. Check out the video of The Stones recording Sympathy For The Devil there to see what the place looked like in the sixties.

  • Your fucked majvdl if its an interveiw post it as such, if not post it as what it is!!!!!! the musics good but have you herd of truth in advertising?? Whatevere I guess I'm just getting on.

  • Copyright gone to far.... idiots. (not you poster)

  • what album is this from??

  • Clapton is god

  • the solo reminds me of a frank zappa solo but i cant remembe which

  • @xp0ferens sounds almost like stinkfoot

  • he's playiin' it.

  • guitaneman - you simple headed cunt. clapton ain't listening to you and your sadness...

  • man...where can I get a copy of that song. I was looking for the Clapton interview and found an awesome guitar lick...beautiful playing.

  • i was hoping to see the actual interview..

great music though. where's that piece from?

  • I ment exotic ...

  • Yeah, I like the track too, especially the first lick of Garrick Davis. I'm getting a little bit tired of the classic blues licks, and Davis' play with the wahwah and the (to me) exotix sounding notes is just fantastic. That's why I also like Derek Trucks

  • I LOVE the music they are playing! Can you tell me if this tune has a name? Or is it just a jam...an improv?

  • It is!

  • I'm pretty sure john mayer recorded some of continuum here.

  • please don't talk about john mayer.

  • Amen.

  • @clehneis Check out Herbie Handcock and the Headhunters featuring John Mayer. You would probably then realize that Mayer does the faggy pop shit for money.

  • @MrSpatter1 John Mayer can play, no question there. But you just can't gravitate between Pop music and Blues... thats just not right. Play the blues or don't!

  • @MrSpatter1 Thats my point dude. He isn't worth talking about...especially in the same sentence as eric clapton.

  • @clehneis hateful much? lay off he's the closest thing my generation has to clapton

  • @clehneis I hate that guy. He thinks hes hot shit. comparing Mayer to Clapton is like comparing a Chevy Aveo to an Aston Martin DB7 Vantage. hes got chops, ill give him that, but hes spent most of his career writing and playing shitty droning pop crap. his vocals are horrible aswell. they're the same droning boy vocals that everybody in the 2000's rock scene does today

  • @clehneis why not? Clapton respects him, you don't have to. But give his guitar playing a chance, not necessarily his music. Listen to his cover of wait until tomorrow, or bold as love, or see him play voodoo child live. Of that's not some well covered hendrix, than show me some that blows mayer's out of the water.

  • Garrick Davis w/ Tony Stead on the B3. Where did you get this track? Damn sweet 2 chord blues. Thanks for posting it.

  • FUCK YOU WMG !!!!

  • majvdl: u can ad subtitles in bottom of frame, so wee will not miss anything.. :)

  • Like many before me have asked... What is the name of the new song? Very smooth blues jam.

  • bummer dude, that sucks...this company needs to stop being to stingy...UR NOT GONNA GAIN SALES, UR GONNA LOSE THEM!!!

  • what is the name of the music playing here?

  • Thank you very much for posting this. I didn't know this kind of footage existed.

  • what is the song btw? very chill song thanks for post!

  • Please remove this for us since it's blocked.. thank you.

  • its just the image where is da content besides the fucking guitar.

  • clapton is so brilliant that it should be forbidden to criticize him

  • I don't know if he's that important, but he's definitely Clapton and you can't argue with what he does

  • Comment removed

  • i meant jimi wasn't very very good in blues like clapton

  • Comment removed

  • man this tune is nice. garrick davis you say? havent been able to find any of his albums or anythin, this makes me sad :(

  • racist? prove it. anyone can put a robot up on youtube. give me some substance morons

  • Hey, it suck that they wouldn't let this air, but what is that music you now have playing in the background in the first part. I really like it. Could you enlighten me please?

  • Why is everyone talking about politics? This is Eric Clapton for god sake! One of the worlds best guitarist! Just listen to the music and stop arguing!

  • WMG must be destroyed by the vindictive hand of Almighty God!

  • WMG SUCKS

    Can you sat boycot!!!!!!!

  • (anger)......(rage)......(sigh)....."i hate wmg"

  • WMG sucks dick

  • If it says WMG it needs to be pirated!

  • WMG does it again...(sigh)

  • what is the title of this song?

  • man, don't change the music, take the fucking video off!!!! this is bull shit

  • Fuck WMG! Fuck copyright!

  • Thank`s majvdl you`ve done your best.

  • Melegrids can live w/dee last 2 mins; but we don't liken to it--stand or deliver

  • The Thing about Clapton is although he said some really racialist, derogatory, and hateful things--"keep Britain white!"--most of his backing band is black, he completely owes himself to black muscians, and he produced a record with BB King. How one person can be so against blacks in Britain, but owe his entire success to them....weird.

  • you dont know clapton is racist and neither do I im tired of hearing pro black race lines nobody ever calls a black person racist but in my life most i met were and were proud of it .eric only wanted to listen to and play with black musicians in the early days thats speaks for itself . do you really think 12% black population got obama elected it was the white majority and still we have blacks using the N word a form of racism and segregation we need to move on

  • What are you talking about? i didn't say shit, i just mentioned it was weird. And you don't need to lecture me about the 2008 Obama election, if you've got something insightful say it, your not breaking new ground letting us know that Obama had white voters as well.

  • you missed the point he didnt have white voters as well about 95 % of the votes were from white americans and african americana act as if he is there candidate and need to protect hime and they hope we dont get racist..another good example is micheal jackson dies and jesse jackson shows up to protect him cause he is black i find that offensive .mike spent his whole life changing his face white look im tired of it everybody else will get tired tool soon. this race stuff is ignorant , primeval

  • This sound is soooo SWEET! I AM ABSOLUTELY HIGH ON THE LOVE RIGHT NOW......Ahhhhh Thankyou!!! I HOPE I hear this in Arizona. Take me Home! Blessings, Peace, Love, LIGHT

  • Por dios que buenos mil gracias maestro Eric Clapton por regalarnos por siempre de su inspiración!

  • Whats the name of the title music? i fuckin love it

  • Garrick Davis - GD Blues (Instrumental)

  • I hate the fact that WMG blocked this interview. With that said, what is this soundtrack from? Is this Hendrix?

  • fuck u WMG

  • well the problem is fixed??? lol

  • OOO nvm, I just sazw him talking with music... LOL! FUCK WMG!!!

  • how are you gonna pick one greatest guitar player? how are you gonna say one is greater than the other? if you cant what makes you think he can? besides everyones taste changes a lot. and i fail to see how him sayin a few people are the greatest makes him have this fake humble thing you said

  • Chairbed- Get up from the floor and quit groveling at the feet of celebrities. Especially THIS one! Eric says these things ("B.B. King is the "greatest", Hendrix is the "greatest") Not Cuban. Eric Clapton often does this weird fake "humbleness" thing in interviews. He tries to be the NICE GUY, and instead comes off as a smarmy sleaze-ball. You either are "the greatest guitarist" or...YOU ARE NOT. To listen to Eric Clapton, you would think EVERYONE is the "greatest" guitarist that every lived.

  • how the fuck am i groveling at the feet of celebrities? and jesus its like you didnt even read what i said

  • One useless brain.

  • I hope WMG gets shut down.

  • Eric does a lot of pentatonic work on old blues covers he does, because that's how the song was originally written. If you listen to alot of his new recordings you can hear him going in and out of all different modes of the scales....not just major and minor pentatonic.....and NO ONE plays with more emotion than Clapton...Unfortunately the only others that ever did left us too early...RIP Jimi and SRV

  • and Robert Cray, and B.B. King, and Buddy Guy, and Johnny Lang and some others you just may not have listened to that much. They are out there, you just have to find them.

  • what is the song thats bein played

  • Damn... why cant people just stick to listening to something they like instead of something they dont...

And when you stumble upon something you dont like.... BY MISTAKE! then at least be cool about it. And then go back to your unpredictable ... Black Metal?... acts... instead of dissing one of the worlds finest blues players... It's a little like people who say Jimi Hendrix is suckage... Hes number one on Stones top 100 guitarists... How can he suck? Or ol' Robert Johnson for the matter...

  • I agree 100% except for the Stones list of 100 greatest guitarists.. They really screwed the pooch on most of the list and lost a lot of subscribers because of it!

While reading most of it I was the ground trying to keep my ribs from braking due to my boisterous laughter!

I like most of the critics colud care less what number a guy was listed at but more who was listed in front of then!

    A few examples

    2 Duane Allman

    10 Keith Richards

    11 Kirk Hammett (WTF?)

    12 Kurt Cobain(huh?)

    Continued

  • 16 Johnny Ramone(no way)

17 Jack White. This is what pissed me off the most they ranked him in front of Eddie Van Halen(70), Freddy King(25),Mark Knopfler(27).Buddy Guy(30),Dick Dale(31), Brian May(39) and David Gilmour(82)!

Now for the People who where not on the list- Billy Gibbons, Slash Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Bonnie Raitt, Albert Lee & Jerry Reed Etc.

The sheer fact that Van Halen is ranked #70 is insane and proves this could have in no way been voted on by Guitarists... There's no way!

  • okay tell us whos better than eric clapton then

  • just because you love cock dont mean u should hate on clapton

  • when he says "the greatest" he means this guy is absolutely greatest in something

the other guy is greatest in something else

he doesn't mean he is the greatest of all it's just a superlative form.like he's so great it goes beyong everything

and there's of course a lot of ppl like this

  • YOU MUST LIKE COCK

  • Wow obviously you don't know what the word respect is how old are you kid 12?

  • Where is this audio track FROM? I LOVE IT

  • great music,tks for posting.

  • Holy shit does anyone else think that lardass56 is gonna be the guy that murdered Clapton?

  • yeah, lardass is probably goin to murder clapton... and 60schlck52 probably helps him :S

  • your saying harrison was average?

  • For years Clapton had

people calling him God. If he'd tried to live up to the imposed 'image', what would the majority have said about him? He had to underplay the adulation. If that makes him 'dull' so be it. I'm sure he'd be more concerned with what people feel about his music than about him. The huge sales of his music don't come from his value as a person, but from the enjoyment his music gives, and that it is truly exceptional. His music will sell after he is dead; how can he be modiocre?

  • In terms of the PR. Tax write off argument hes no worse or better than most other high profile stars that do the same. But his guitars? I have possessions that are priceless to me as im sure you do and those guitars must have been to him. Good points though. You nearly had me petitioning his crucifixion.

  • Very interesting thoughts, but not all of the $32 million would have gone straight into Claptons pocket, nor would it have all gone straight to charity either. Also many artists who release charity material do it because it is good P.R. and do so I think in a ghoulish fashion.

I dont have a figure as to how much money he has donated to charity but im sure it is a substantial amount. Charity Gigs, release of records, and the sale of his beloved guitars ect.

  • Do you suggest he must lead a life of poverty before he can make music? He wrote wot was around him like most other artists. Do you have a problem with wealth or something? Or are you just a blinkered fool who only believes in one way to be creative.

  • Hi what is the name of the song please? i love it!

  • haha, are you for real?

  • Sunday Sue, Have you seen him play the blues? What are you talking about.? He has been the cause of the recognition of Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Johnson, etc. cmon girl, get real!

  • who's your idea of a musician ? The Monkees ?

  • read his autobiography you dumb fuck

  • OragonDarrryl unless you have a son that jumped out of a 53rd story window, i suggest you shut up dictating what erics intentions of writing tears in heaven was, you sad bastard.

  • funny video lets chat

    lets chat RK

  • ur 48 years old, ur on you tube bad mouthing eric clapton, sad patethic loser. STOP swearing, ugly person. stop going on eric clapton music interviews if u can't stand him, ur on other songs by him bad mouthing him as well.sad sad loser.

  • He is human. He shows us one side of the human soul. He puts everything he has into his music, and for that I respect and thank him no matter what mistakes he has committed in his life.

  • Our mistakes define us- not our successes.

  • That's opinion, not fact, so stop stating it as such.

  • You're obviously an ill defined person.

  • Wow, you're an even bigger fool than I thought. The term which defines a person such as yourself would be know-it-all (arrogant fool could also be used). And you wonder why it is people can't stand you. Fool...

  • OragonDarrryl

clapton did his drugs in the 70's we are now in 2008 with even more drug addicts so don't blame it on Eric Clapton, you would not say people drink because George Best drank

  • i wonder how true u r :) we love clapton :)

  • You are full of shit too!

  • You are so full of shit!

  • LOL.... Oh man, what a load of horse shit I just read here!! LOL Very funny..!!

  • not all Eric Clapton fans are english, you know?

I am personally from Roumania. And I don't think he made a business from his son tragedy. And DO YOU THINK THAT HE WROTE TEARS IN HEAVEN FOR MONEY???For god sake, he wrote it in the memory of his son!!!Thats how you make blues.Blues are not pop muzic, Oragon! You make them to release yourself.

  • Thank you! And business skills? The guy didn't graduate college with a marketing degree. He writes and plays music. OragonDarrryl needs to get his head out of his ass.

  • and i m from pakistan :)

exactly exactly exactly dat wasn`t a business , clapton share his feelings wid his fans his pain wid his fans and his happiness wid his fans and the mean is music guyz , whoever said dat is wrong

  • digusting, eric has been famous for 40 years, his kid died in the 90's. This was after wonderful tonight, layla, cocaine songs and cream songs. Be quiet u ignorant fool loads of people have issues and he wasn't on drugs in the 90's. Saying he expolited his kid's death for profit is twisted. He had great songs before that. My God, how horrid.

  • You're right and besides, he wrote Tears in Heaven as a tribute to his sons memory and was going to stop singing it and did for awhile because of the pain it caused him but it was requested so much at every concert he finally gave in to his fans and started singing it again. It had nothing to do with money.

  • I read the biography, he has grown up. Reread it and maybe you won't miss that the second time around... but really maybe go back to school to better your comprehension skills dumb fuck

  • Clapton is human..

    how's that ??

  • LOL

  • NO, he ain't God! Great guitar picker, great fan of American Blues.Family man, appreciates what God has done. But no clapton ain't God .I know this kind of stuff disgusts and really bewilders him. I know this, ...........

  • He's just a man that pours everything he has into blues guitar.

  • you must have a agonie to play blues guitar. he had a life full of agonie!that's why he was a so good blues muzician.and of course the chemicals...

  • Clapton is GOD!

  • Over the years, YES his playing has become MORE REFINED (in a blues sense) but his voice is increasingly better & better as a bluesman

  • YEAH that guitare is luciles twink i love it.His blues are the best like bb`s!!

  • i like how he's completely honest

it's like this is a therapy session, he's being true to us and to himself in it, no crap like alot of other artists put out.

  • If I can be in Claton shoes for one day, and think what he thinks, I think my head will explode from the ingenuity of such an amazing musician. He is just such an amzig man.

  • clapton is god

  • Strange you should think that way after seeing a video where Eric stands out as being very human. He's not God, he's an amazing musician.

  • yes well said

  • This appears to be the interior of Olympic Studios, the Rolling Stones favored studio from the mid to late '60s--before they split for France. Many historic sessions have taken place in this particular studio in use, which I think is the larger of the two tracking rooms there.

  • clapton is god!

  • Does anyone think that Clapton changed his kind of music in a bad way.

I'm not saying he's bad (he's a helluva guitar player) but I prefered the music he did with Cream and The dominos and that kind of things

  • i hear you, but he split up with cream because he felt they were steering away from the blues. he really mainly was blues

  • yea, if you read his autobiography, clapton talks about how he was a blues purist during those days, and felt that if it wasn't blues, it wasn't worth playing. personally, I like his stuff once he went solo a little more because it was written after he confronted his heroine addiction and his being an alcoholic, so it has a sort of been down that road feel. clapton's music over time is very diverse, and that is why he remains my favorite artist of all time

  • Well said

  • yes me too!!! !

  • I agree with you too. But that's just a personal choice and the comments made by

08MXZX and bic1457 are quite reliant.

  • Yeah, that's classic music, but he did that stuff almost 40 years ago. He was in his 20s. Great musicians change and evolve. They have to. He still plays the old songs (Unplugged, Cream reunion), but you can't expect some sort of carbon copy of the old records. If he did that, he'd be an oldies act in Vegas.

  • i would appreciate his blues songs so much more if there wasnt any piano. or at least not in every song.
