  • I agree with this research. Be a defensive driver. Be responsible with other people lives..

  • i think anyone who uses a phone when driving should be jailed. i all so think old people that drive should re take there test as there eye sight is not as it was when they were younger. that is not an attack on the elderly but fact

  • yeah but how can you say that the driving experience is even remotely similar to a real one. What is this place and whats with their low budget ass testing lol. They need to step it up and then tell me some facts cuz im not havin it right now

  • ok the testing part is ok but she didnt even do a domonstation

  • are you effing serious? GTA??? to study this... thats the most unrealistic thing to test it on. lmao

  • I thought so too at first... but how many other games have pedestrians and other cars that can have doors opening and things like this ... and cops! lol

  • i'd do a few laps with her, she drives me wild !

  • i have that steering wheel :D (logitech g25)

  • hai am khader a

  • I agree with everything she is saying. Surely having a conversation with someone who is in the car is going to have exactly the same effects?

  • No, that's different.

  • This is a great field of research. For my studies I am currentlly looking at how multimodal platforms such as iPhones can be calibrated between device and user mutually to allow for a fairer usage model. The distribution of senses between a difuse range of modes like haptic or visual components may either complement or distract from one another, altering the significance of each Human Computer Interaction e.g. how fairly force feedback compensates haptic input to a device during money donations.

  • she's fit AND a distraction !

  • i thought you will play something in real :p ... but it was a good discussion ^_^

  • Interesting research. I wonder if mobile phone conversation will be compared to other distractions such as

    Talking to a passenger

    Listening to talk radio

    Mental planning (e.g. job interview/meeting)

If mobile use is no worse than those does it make sense to ban it?

  • you are 100% correct. What is worse, talking to someone on a handsfree kit OR listen to radio and talk to passenger, whilst 2 kids make noise in the background.

I do agree that talking on a handsfree kit is a distraction, however it is the drivers responsibility to prioritize which is the most important focus. If you have a kid in the back seat, crying, and you decide that the child in the back is more important than driving, would this make it illegal to have children in the car.

  • wow cool
