  • I'm Irish and I have to say people like Kucinich make America great. Not those gangsters who have to act in secret, who call themselves the illuminated elite. Their days are numbered

  • probably be presidential nominee if he wasn't so weesled face

  • he DOES sound like j.f. kennedy here. very cool and i love the bloke shouting "thank you" repeatedly. this completely made my day.

  • Dennis ROCKS!!! Victory through Peace and under Grace! Dennis4President . com

  • Using conservative estimates, if our involvement in Iraq goes until 2016, as in 2016 we turn off the lights, we will have spent $100,000 dollars for every man woman and child in Iraq. If we wrote them each a check for half that right now we would save 100's of billions of dollars.

Dennis is the only candidate trying to save the future, rather than repeating mistakes of the past.

  • I'm interested in your reaction. The central point of his speech is "We must challenge the type of thinking that says that war is inevitable." I'm all for pursuing this line of thinking. And, he never suggests that he intends to tell the people of the Middle East what to do. Check out his PBS interview with Judy Woodruff, I think you might find it more genuine and may address your objections.

  • While his central point is noble and evolved, it is also suicidal. We cannot just make peace by ourselves if nobody else in the world - nay, if not everybody in the world- agrees. Do you remember the nuclear disarmament debate ? Russia was trying its utmost amongst intellectuals to have them work towards disarming w/o any plans of their own. And I have my problems with impeaching the VP while we are at war. That is not the democratic way to stop a war.

  • Dennis is no fool. Notice how the only person speaking harshly of Dennis is ONE person. I'll bet he's a Republican who thinks Dennis Kucinich is a Communist who will destroy our country. LOL.

    GO DENNIS!

  • If we dont get Universal Health Care I am moving to FRANCE asap I am doing my part I am voting for Kucinich my last hope our Last Hope !

  • What a man! Dennis Kucinich. I feel so energized! Go Dennis!

  • this speech by Dennis Kucinich sounds like Martin Luther King! Extremely good!

  • If Kucinich isn't your man, then there is only two others: Ron Paul, and Mike Gravel. Only 3 of all who in this race, will return our Constitution to the people and cause the government to serve ACCORDING TO THE CONSTITUTION.

  • Anyone watch that BS ABC News debate?

  • We must stop believing the myth that only the candidates the corporate media wants us to support can win the presidency. This is a democracy and WE, the voters decide who is electable or not. We need to support the only candidate we know is worth our vote.

    Only Kucinich in 2008!!!

Please don't waste your vote on Hillary or Obama, it's far too important.

  • This guy is such a great guy and would make an amazing president, but he doesn't have a chance. Every single interview/debate/story that features him asks "why are you even trying you have single digit approval." They are trying to knock him down. It is our duty to get him past barrier, and get him elected in 2008. Tell your friends and family; post videos about him on your profile. Make our voices heard.

  • This is such a great speech, I keep watching it over and over again. No one can accuse HIM of not outlining his agenda. I wonder if he can beat the Republican Noise Machine (Faux News, Rushbo, Coultergeist, et al). They got Gore and Kerry...

  • I consider myself a post-left anarcho-primitivist, but for the present, he is definitely someone I can get behind.

  • I really really like this candidate, I'm happy to see that someone has come about who I can support for President. I don't agree with everything he stands for, but he definitely seems to be way ahead of the other candidates when it comes to having progressive values toward equality and environmental peace. He's the only candidate I've found who is really emphasizing the problems with NAFTA/WTO, the environment, workers rights, and other issues that don't seem to be in the mainstream media.

  • GO DENNIS! It's time. The world is waiting, but they won't wait forever.

  • Impeach Cheney

  • I want this guy to be President so bad! I listen to him with tears in my eyes because I feel so overwhelmed with emotion & desire to make America be his vision for America!

  • HERE HERE gsystice!!!

  • GO, Dennis, GO! For whatever they are worth, you have my money and my vote. Best of all? My love!

-from one long shot to another

  • The last real voice for the people was JFK but the power brokers didn't like that one bit. Tell you what, gather up all of the big oil, drug, banking other greed and power loving people - banish them to a vacant galaxy. Then get the Constitution back in operation. Get rid of the illegal income tax system, throw out most of Congress Then what you spoke of in your speech could happen in 1 or 2 terms. You abition is monumental, it is a monumental task... America can accomplish monumental tasks.

  • how can you not vote for DK? He's the only candidate that isn't full of shit. This is reality. This is what we NEED to start working on. Our country is fucking doomed otherwise.

  • Kucinich can win the election. He got by far the best response from the crowd at this convention (which included Hillary and Obama), the media is starting to lose control/trust of the American people, especially here in California. Kucinich's grassroots/cyberwire campaign is taking off.

    The revolution has begun.

  • He is by far the best candidate in this election, because he is the only one speaking the truth, except Gravel, he is speaking the truth as well.

  • You got my vote too! Great speech.

  • I'm there Kucinich, you got my vote

  • Have we, as a people, gone so far south with our powers of discernment and reasoning that we cannot see that Kucinich has raised the bar and stands for something that we only seem to pretend to value? The man has courage and conviction and I challenge all of us to have the courage of our convictions and do something good for this nation and ourselves by supporting Kucinich all the way in 2008.

  • The truth is hard so when superficial politicians write the book of rhetoric, fiction's what they want to be. Lies are the cancer of democracy. I have only seen that other candidates only pretend to have our best interests at heart. How many times must we say it's for the best and leave truth as the casualty by voting these liars into office? Kucinich is what this country needs to help us heal and move on from the damage that Bush and his friends have caused this nation and its people.

  • Dennis expresses my vision of America to be, the America I saw gradually coming until held back by Republicans and in the past few years reversed by the neo-con myopics who care only about power and wealth for themselves and do not care about the Constitution, or the average person. Dennis has a positive vision for the future of our planet.

  • im telling you all now this guy is very dangerous. read between the lines and you will see he is a globalist. he speaks with to much drama, hes an actor. Mike Gravel is the real deal.

  • Mike Gravel can't control his own anger and frustration, and there lies an even greater danger. We live in the world, and we must have a good relationship with other nations and deal with our differences and challenges with diplomacy- not aggressive war. The drama u say Kucinich speaks with is urgency and passion. It's nice to see a candidate that feels so deeply. All the other candidates are poor rhetoric machines who sound like broken records. Read about Kucinich's record.

  • Kucinich is being real, he may be asking for a more global agenda, but to say he is in with the globalists is wrong. I mean he wants to cancel NAFTA and WTO, very UNglobalist, and very much pro American. Mike Gravel is cool though, but for the primaries we are going to have to choose between Gravel and Kucinich (as far as for those of us who see that these two are the only ones speaking the truth), I choose Kucinich.

  • Kucinich NEEDS to be our president! Look at his voting record, ITS Amazing! Look at his entire track record, this man is great. I have no idea why on Earth people say that they would love to see him as president but won't get elected. Thats crap. Challenge anyone that says that. Talk to people about him.

  • Abosolutely! Well said! Den to Win in 2008!

  • I agree. The only thing that would keep him from being elected is people THINKING, and therefore acting like, he won't get elected. Challenge this type of thinking, tell that person if they are comfortable with the media telling them what they should think.

  • *ask the perosn

  • 1) Democrats only speak hatred and fear to the American public.

    2) Liberals trust our enemies at every turn, but show no trust in the government that they run. Never forget that the Liberals are in charge of the Senate and the Congress.

    3) Liberals want to decrease our military, and want to defund intelligence that could have prevented 911.

4)If our country is attacked again by terrorist, these same liberals will ask if more could have been done to stop them.

  • maybe you should listen to the video again...

  • It's time to wake up and smell reality. War has NEVER throughout human history SOLVED the problems it supposedly set out to. Since the beginning of time, war has only ever temporarily benefited the greedy few that started it in the first place!

  • Well, the way the world has been working lately certainly hasn't been working! It is time for a change. Say what you will, but decriminalizing marijuana would save us a ton in tax money getting those prisoners out of jail, and if we taxed pot, we could get way out of debt and have a huge surplus in no time! And Dennis won't give our surplus away to his rich friends like Bush did with the surplus Clinton/Gore created.

  • I totally agree. Taxing pot would be one tax increase Americans would be glad to pay. Smoking w/o fear: priceless.

  • yea go marry your father

  • It's Kucinich, some one steal his pot of gold and so he has to grant us one wish. Does anyone else get that leprechaun vibe or is it just me?

  • Go ahead, make fun of the guy's looks, because looks are really what it is all about, right?

    sad

  • He has all the idealism of an upstart but the experience of a longterm congressman. He has voted against war all along. He has a *real* healthcare plan.

  • Dennis Kucinich was the most popular candidate at the convention. He was the one candidate who had the audience in his grip.

It was Kucinich's positions (impeachment, cutting the funding to war) that the delegates backed over those of the other candidates.

The second most popular speaker was Maxine Waters. She backed up what Dennis had said about cutting the funding.

  • Dennis is so idealistic. I was crying watching this video. Someone who cares about everyone having health care, peace, uniting the world. He is phenominal! I love him and am commited againg to him. I like John Edwards but it's not enough!

  • Dennis Kucinich is the real deal. I find it difficult to relate to people who

feel that war, greed, death, and hunger are the reality.

I find it difficult to find a common ground

with people who feel that lack of education,

lack of health care, lack of respect from the rest of

the world is the world we deserve.

I suggest you visit his website at kucinich dot us and click

on issues. There you will see, item by item plan for America.

He can win, if you vote for him.

    Claire McGee

  • that seems to me a better use of time than guys like you who want me to think it doesn't.

  • Here's a clue: send a message to this candidate and then watch your sent box. None of them read anything posted here! It's all a facade to make you believe your voice matters.

  • Does he urge you to use YouTube mail? Message from his campaign site, and it has a better shot of getting to him. I messaged from there and got a personal reply from the candidate himself. Nice try on the cynicism, though.

  • I'm not trying to be cynical, I've written so many of these people and my own representatives as well, I just can't believe their apathy! I assumed the you choose '08 site was for hearing our opinions as stated by You Tube, I was disappointed in finding it was not true.

  • i disagree, check out a dude on here named emergenceycheese. he is a georgetown student who makes politcal videos and he has had ron paul in his dorm room for an interview. also, kucinich has posted a video response to the guy as well. politicians may not respond to these post but they do respond to others and here their voices. like you said, "it's all a facade to make you believe your voice matters."

  • I know who you are speaking of and he is an intern in Congress, he has a little more access than we do. I know because I have friends in politics too, and it's ALL about who you know.

  • people who don't like Kucinich seem to be people who think the "peace-nick" stuff is silly.

those of us who like him don't think it's silly.

It's nice to hear somebody who's really got the bug to change things. well, it is if you want things to change.

everybody tells me how foolish he is. too bad more people don't think it makes a lot of sense.

  • Kucinich can take 1/2 of the Pentagon budget away and they would still have more money than any other agency. What did the Pentagon do with the $2.3 trillion missing on 9/10/01. Stop burning money and there will be some gold left over to actually use for good.

  • How much money has been spent in the last 50 years on nuclear weapons that have not been used? Ones they promise us they will not use? it is all bullshit so someone can make $

  • I would agree that Kuncinich suffers from a utiopian vision image. Have you looked at Gravel or Ron Paul?

Neither are utopian and have some very solid approaches.

  • I can't support either one of those two because Ron Paul is a right-wing libertarian. I'm not a right-winger. Mike Gravel believes in a tax system that I feel is fundamentally unfair--national sales tax. Kucinich believes in a public sector economy under democratic control. I have a latent socialism, so I gotta go with the closest thing to what I am. Socialism isn't Utopian. Utopian socialism is when you do what someone like Noam Chomsky does.

  • I'm not a right-winger either, but Ron Paul REALLY impresses me.

If Gravel gets elected and the National Initiative is enacted, we can reverse the effects of ANY laws that we don't want, including the ones you despise most! Let's vote for Gravel!

  • I do like the national iniative-- it's very European.

  • "Utopian socialism is when you do what someone like Noam Chomsky does."

Which one is Utopian socialism? Criticizing US foreign policy or generative grammer?

  • His solutions to US policy are Utopian, although he did endorse Kerry last time.

  • What solution to which policy? Maybe there is something I missed where he writes about an ideal society, but most of what I've seen from Chomsky center around a critique of US government atrocities. He did suggest his friend Michael Albert had some good ideas with Parecon - I don't know how utopian that is. It criticizes social ecology and libertarian municiplism, which are utopian.

  • Parecon isn't me. Chomsky generally supports syndicalism. Social Democracy is my way, aiming towards a more left-wing ideal of democratic socialism. Most of those ideas (Albert's Parecon) are so good because they are ahead of their time!

  • I'm into democratic socialism, rather than utopian socialism. I'm not so sure anarcho-syndicalism is the way to go, but a full employment economy with a robust public sector certainly is. That's why I'm supporting Kucinich.

  • pt 1:

democratic socialism still is capitalist, patriarchal, and statist. any truly democratic society (ie direct democracy) must operate without capitalism and government.

i'm not a big fan of syndicalism, however, because work sucks. we should form small, autonomous, networked communities based on bioregional principles, living off the land as much as possible.

  • Yeah. I'm not an anarchist, especially the post-left versions of it. We're probably going to disagree on that. I used to be a follower of Chomsky's version of it, but no longer.

  • pt 2:

kucinich is one of the only decent politicians (nader is another), but they are politicians, and they're capitalist and statist and ultimately will sell us out and can't work for a directly democratic, nonhierarchical society free of all authority and oppression.

  • I won't say that Kucinich is a socialist, but there are real socialist elements in what he has to offer. You and I probably have a different idea about what socialism is. To me, the Soviet Union was socialist, but a really distorted form of it. BTW, it's nice to know we still have dreamers in this world.

  • I'm much closer the New Democratic Party in Canada's version of things. I think Kucinich is America's Tommy Douglas.

  • Love Dennis Love him

  • * Cleaner environment for all * Jobs for all * Health care for all * Education reform * Delete Patriot Act (Protect Constitution) * Immigrant's rights * Listens to the People * Abolish all nuclear weapons * End monopoly on energy * Impeachment of Vice President * Stands for Honest Elections * Believes in the de-evolution of war * Believes in International Law * Spread Peace and Prosperity * Connect hearts again * Human Unity

  • Can you believe that a candidate exists with all of those ideas? He just gets better and better! He makes Ralph Nader look reactionary by comparison.

  • Even better than ideas: he's been giving actual plans! I <3 Kucinich; there is still hope for a positive change in 2008! ^.^

  • Absolutely! Obama. Where's the Beef? (To steal from Walter "I will raise your taxes" Mondale).

  • He can win if the people are made aware. We need to demand that the national press cover his campaign effort on the major networks.

  • he quoted Ulysses - I like him ;)

  • Dennis Kucinich ran his 2004 campaign against great odds, battling big money interests in his own party, only bowing out finally at the Boston convention when the Dems went with a "safe" staus quo candidate. At least he's been getting more exposure this time around. American people simply need to be willing to make a commitment to change and Dennis will be our next president.

  • i never even heard of him during the 2004 campaign. and now that i have, i'm going to support him all the way. he is a truly inspiring man with a great vision. i think he is getting more exposure this time around.

  • i m 4 sure voting him in to the white house

  • Come on Dennis. Get the vote out.

  • "There are three things that cannot long be hidden... the sun, the moon, and the truth." Confucious

I haven't heard any other Democratic candidate as passionate and committed to progressive change for this country as Dennis Kucinich. No other candidate comes close to Kucinich's integrity and honesty and his compassion for his fellow man. He speaks the truth. We all know it. Spread the word about a true American visionary with the only real plan for our future.

  • Dennis the visionary -- would that others would see the vision and the light!

  • Dennis Kucinich is the only democrat running for president worth voting for! We need another Clinton in office like we need another Bush (Seriously, give someone else a chance). I just hope Edwards doesn't mess it up again like him and Kerry did in '04.

  • I'm tired of the DLC machine running the "progressive" party in America. That's the only reason why we'll get stuck with Clinton. And if she is the nominee, I'm going back to parties that actually represent my values. Ralph Nader better be running! But I don't want it to come to that-- I'm supporting Kucinich all the way! Kucinich is more progressive than Nader.

  • Aww, c'mon, Clinton isn't that bad. All the Democratic candidates this season are highly qualified, and all would make at least decent presidents. Of course, Kucinich is way better, as is Nader, but you gotta give them that much credit-Ron Paul, too, I guess. Of course, Gore, as we find out six years after the fact would make an AWESOME president, much better than Clinton, Clinton, Obama or Edwards.

  • Hillary is being moved to the left because of a real challenge from Obama. And the country is making the politicians take these stands; the right has totally discredited itself.

  • Plus, as much as I would fight for Dennis to win, him being Vice President is also good, and much more likely, since he'd be the incumbency in 2012 or 2016.

  • Not a bad idea - I'm afraid that the American public isn't ready for Dennis, he's too "radical" for most people. Personallly, I love hearing him, love his ideas, love hearing him speak - our country would do so well if they would use his ideas, as would the world. GOOD LUCK DENNIS KUCINICH!!!!

  • He certainly is a unique speaker ;)

In any case, Kucinich goes above and beyond all the other candidates with his excellent policies. Seeing this from an international perspective, if you Americans vote him in as President, you will instantly regain all the credibility you lost under Bush. He certainly has a wonderful vision for the States and for the world. Kucinich 2008!

  • I am voting for him, of course. But this party of which Kucinich is a member has a problem. Most of the members agree with him. Most of them are lefties and progressives. But we've been socialized to hate what we are. That's the biggest problem we have. We've been told that we have to settle for second best all the time. It's really quite tragic.

  • Certainly a wonderful vision!

  • yes, a beautiful vision. Something that America desperately needs right now. Kucinich '08!

  • Kucinich is the American Ideal, the cup that runneth over. America is in a desert, thirsty. Insanity keeps us from lifting the cup to our lips and drinking.

  • I like seeing him float the peace sign.

  • Awesome, I want his vision for my country!

  • Kucinich will get voted in for a change to revive American Values. Kucinich will be president in 2008.

  • He has my vote. Kucinich 08'

  • nice job Dennis

  • cound not get it to load

  • I think he's found his voice. This is what happens when a Democrat acts without fear of who he is.

  • Nobody but Dennis in 2008.

  • He's touching a nerve. You would be amazed how many people have started complaining about him in the mainstream media. This didn't happen last time. He's got my vote!

  • complaining and trying to take subtle jabs at him especially MSNBC

  • That's where I saw it. Some General actually said that his campaign was a joke, "just proof that anyone can run for president." This is the "radical" MSNBC. Of course, the media are only as liberal as the multinational corporations that own them. And they are a "that," not a "who." Corporations aren't people.

  • In 1886 the U.S. Supreme Court's Chief Justice died, and a dishonest clerk, JC Bancroft Davis, wrote the Court held: "Corporations are artificial persons under the law and are entitled to the (equal protection) 14th Amendment." They STOLE personhood, and yes, are seen as PEOPLE like you & me, only they are titans today.

  • What happened? I thought he was doing O.K. 'till after the Tennyson quote, after which he just seemed to fall apart.

  • I watched him in SD he was great!

  • Dennis Kucinich 2008!
