Please watch what you say about punching someone in the face. I take serious offense to that. Why don't you go to the library and read up on violence and how it does nothing but breed more violence. How ignorant...quick ? how many board meetings did you go to before you were outraged by what was going on. The library will still be available, just at a new location. And the employees who were laid off are civil service and will get their jobs back when it re-opens. I am in shock by the reactions
Thank You Zack!!! once again pointing out the idiocy of politics. be sure to break the nose of the guy in the suit...and also the guy who told you not to swear. kids are gonna learn to swear in that neighborhood more if the library IS closed. it is your community's library...and it should be down to a vote of the community...not of stupid representatives who receive more money than any other person in the crowd

@SuperNinny10 okay. where is the new location and when are they going to get their jobs back? getting jobs back in 2 years is retarded..and employees aside, think of the many children who go to the library to avoid the "violence" that you yourself are "outraged" about. the area has enough violence reported as is. having the children being unable to access the building because 1, they don't know where it is..or 2. they cant get there..the library building, as it stands, is in a prime location
@SuperNinny10 being extremely close to the schools as well as close enough to the community that anyone who needs it can get there...many teens as well as adults go there so they have a way to access the internet, to be able to even check their emails because they cant afford cable themselves....taking that away from is like saying good luck finding and giving them the finger.,.the teens also go there to be good students so they can, as zack said "go to college and make something of themselves"
@SuperNinny10 many of them may not do that if they cant access the library...in fact, they may look for another way to enjoy themselves that may be worse for the community...gang violence still does exists whether you ignore it or not...and taking away another place where teens can go to escape and be safe will only add to it...so in your argument against violence...well i guess you can symbolically suck my balls
@SuperAwesomeJediMan and you should think about how idiocy in society and how peoples actions, even if not violent, can still cause hatred and violence...just as bad as violence itself
@SuperNinny10 lastly....when the library is closed....maybe i would come down to read about violence....IF I KNEW WHERE THE FRIGGIN NEW LOCATION FOR THE LIBRARY WAS!!!!
@SuperAwesomeJediMan The trustees are community volunteers (no pay). Nobody wants to close the library, nor either (temporarily) eliminate jobs. The plan was born from community sentiment against a tax increase. It represents a way to renovate the building without spending more money, and without being limited by an uncertain New York State tax cap that could block our ability to pass a budget for more costly approaches. Let's use this excellent passion to look for solutions. It's good!
