I won't say I'll never buy a luxury make-up item, but this Chanel collection looks totally unspecial and imminently dupeable. Maybe if it was a cool product like Guerlain's Meteorites or MUFE's 12 Color Flash Palette (which I ended up trying but returning because it's basically expensive grease paint) I'd spring for it -- but this is just blah :P. Thanks for the review, Christine! You always help me spend my make-up money wisely.
Bronopol (2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol) may break down in products into formaldehyde and also cause the formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines under certain conditions. One of the most expensive lines of cosmetics, Chanel, often uses this chemical. So do many leading brands of baby products. As does the Body Shop, whose product sales are built on a reputation of containing natural ingredients.
I know you probably get hundreds of emails so I really hope to hear back from you. I have a really crappy set up and you can take a look at my videos. anyhow, i want to work on doing a better one and doing product reviews on a much lower scale than you but i love your videos and swatches and wanted to ask you if you would recommend a good starting set up for me since you are very experience. I would really appreciate it.
as I know, this collection is exclusive for Harrods in London & not even in the Chanel boutique. I'm surprise to see its being sold in the United State. If you can shop in Harrods, what is $80.00.....peanuts.
I'm actually not in love with any part of the collection. The blush is very pretty but I'm not sure it would look good on my skin tone. Can't wait to see what it looks like on you and what you think about it. My lips are very pigmented so the glossier is not going to show up at all on my lips. Ohhh well, I guess I'll pass on this one. Thank you so much for the review and the swatches :)
The lipsticks look awesome. I want them all but I may have Mac dupes. Definitely a big no to colourless lipgloss and a super big no to 80 dollar blush that won't show up on me.
@BeautieCandy Glosismers are shimmery but not glittery, so they're not as gritty - WAY more product in the tube (Dazzleglasses have so little product). They're both really glossy and shimmering, but Glossimers are a more delicate effect but still shiny and reflective.
Unfortunately in Europe (Italy) the quality of Chanel's products is very different from the american one, especially for blushes and eyeshadow palette!
I generally love the uniqueness of Chanel but there is absolutely nothing unique about any of the items in the Chanel collection.
This collection is very easy for me to walk away from as everything has dupes that are close enough for me.
As for that blush, if it gets released in Australia it will probably retail for around $140 AUD. A totally outrageous price for a blush that in my opinion, is below par for Chanel.
It doesn't look like too much thought by Chanel went into this collection
@NREnger You're paying for the brand, the "not necessary" design, and the fact that it's made in Italy (all products that come from Italy are expensive in general and it's the same for clothes...)

The blush is nice to look at, but at $80 I'd doubt I would use it much since it's nothing special or unique.

I just paid $75 for the horizontal blush from the Spring collection. I almost puked at the ca$h register.
emilieclarke 1 month ago 13
@emilieclarke Yeah, the spring blush price was pretty pricey - even for Chanel. It reminded me of how fast MAC nail polish prices have accelerated.
temptalia 1 month ago
Okay that blush is not even pretty. Okay it is average. I could go to walmart and find a blush like that. Nothing special about it. $80 really?

Chanel is WAY OVER PRICED. Yes they have some good products but you really only pay for the brand. 80$ for a powder just is dumb.
