  • This is the first time I've seen this show and I need to find it and watch it because damn this is powerful stuff.

  • LMBO from 4:42-4:55 especially when Dwayne came out with the hood on. I'm still laughin. Lol

  • I think my favorite character in this episode is the security guard.

  • Great episode.

  • although i hate those racist jerks, i still find it funny when they say "the supremes" lol

  • i love how they pointed out the fact that dwayne was from brooklyn and brooklyn cats don't play that shit. lol

  • this episode makes me cry to know that people will always do such hateful acts. i love this episode but it does hurt. love the passion of the actors

  • LMAO swear when dwayne came out with the hood on, I Thought te hoodie said Crooklyn lls

  • funny when most ppl say "saying sorry cant make up for things" they feel they can say it and everythings ok but no thats a fucking bold face lie

  • OMG, when Dwayne comes out with the hood on....that $hit is hilarious!!!!!!

  • I will never in a million years understand the mindset of a racist person. I don't understand how someone can judge entirely on a person's race or skin color. I blame the person's caretaker as well as their upbringing. Racist people have such hateful mindsets. And when I see people like that I actually feel sorry for them, because they will never get to see the real beauty in people. How can you see the real beauty in someone when your to stuck judging them according to their race/color alone?

  • You have got to love Freddie's passion at 6:20. She is so funny, dramatic, and at the same time politically correct.

  • Lmao..that wolf is tripping me out.."Woah a confession!" haha

  • Love this episode but the wolf was the best part. Lmao.

  • Superman is racist! lol

  • @erika2012vsu every time I watch this episode i think the same thing. Lol

  • @tonshaad1230 no because hes an idiot and he's trying to be sarcastic about a serious matter. but hey its just a tv show. and its from the 90's.

  • @Decembergirl1996

Yeah the same description of ALL CIVILIIZATIONS WHEN THEY HAD SLAVES!

  • 5:38 The best line ever spoken by an African American. Equality for all.

  • the dude in the black jacket is such a bitch.

  • @demontemorton

Oh because he has an opinion?

  • @tonshaad1230 Just cause someone has an opinion...don't always make it right.

  • i like dwayne's shoes. lol

  • lol dwayne with that hood on his head i seen this today on tvone

  • im mad dwayne had on a KKK hood

  • Ron Is So Hot In This Episode ! I Would Fuck Ron Like Ain't Nobody Fucked Him B4 !

  • I love everyone's version of this being so diluted!!!!! LOL

  • That's right Dwayne, you better demand that he respect your woman.

  • I love Freddie!!!

  • the cop is played by ernie sabella. he voiced as pumbaa on the lion king.

  • i love how whats him comes walking out with the hood on meaning buiness lol

  • hey man stop

  • 7:37, you know whats funny? he's describing the average slave. black people came here originally on slve ships, with NOTHING, not even family. nd when they got here they had to learn the language or get whipped or worse so he need to shut up

  • No, The Game is the ONLY show... there is no competition. I did like the game but season 4 has been soooo disappointing. We need more shows and I'm going to write one.

  • I like the cop!

  • the mascot is the funniest part of this whole episode.

  • LoL at 4:40, "PUNK!" Ron and DeWayne as gangsters.

  • LOL, The Wolf all in it.....

  • This was the first episode I ever saw...(The show is older than me btw..) lol and Dwayne's words - "I'm an educated black man...your worst nightmare." is still in my head. This was a really good episode...you won't see a show on now like this.

  • Luv Ron and Dwayne

  • rons version of the story had me on the floor.lmao

  • @bribrigurl321 A Different World was the second most successful african american comedy right behind cosby show.it dealt with issues that were typically avoided regarding race, sex, and class. They were also one of the first and few sitcoms to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the black community...

So yea... The Game.. Derwin and his baby mama drama..should be put in the same category. *sarcasm*

but like u said you're entitled to your opinion.

  • This was a deep show. This was aired almost twenty years ago but that Speech Dwayne gave is still true even today.

  • @bribrigurl321 oh wow did u really just put the Game in a category with this show?

  • @MekkaSG exactlt..its good but not to be compared with ADW..ADW made me cry, laugh, get addicted to coffee and loads more

  • There should have been violins when that guy was talking about his father telling that joke. This episode aired on 1/16/1992...do the math...1+1+6+1+9+9+2= 29 and 2+9? 11...Illuminati...their number is 11...don't believe the hype. Numerology is very, very important to the Illuminati.

  • @danaroxy19822040 dammmnnn

  • I love how the brick wall moves when Dwayne pushes Dean Cain against it. I guess he really is Superman lol

  • "My Brothers, When Is This Madness Gonna End!?!" Gotta love Cree Summer for that kind of effort she puts into her acting career. I laughed when the Wolf mascot says, "WHOA, A CONFESSION!!", and at his speech later on. I also like that one A.M. student, Rick, for noticing that we're not all colors, we're all human beings. Why can't people just see that for once?

  • @ 6:49 Dwayne's like 'AW HELL NO!'

  • great episode! we need shows like this

  • Freddie. <3

  • Ron: Hey man Stop. LMAO!!!

  • i luv wat the officer said cuz it was so tru wen he said that D' Wayne and Ron didn't know him and that they were being prejudice too by thinking he was racist wen he actually cut them a lot of slack. he could have marched with Dr. King and they would av never knew that about him.D' Wayne was right too wen he said that his grandfather was born in America but was still treated like a foreigner in his own country.P.S. I think that tat J.C. guy was a bitch.

  • yeahh , don't talk about whitley likee that .

  • Can I find a man like Dwayne????

  • I absolutely LOVE Dwayne in this! Everything he said was truth and the way he said it was so powerful and sexy as heck!! They're versions of the story were hilarious too. And the way he stood up for Whitley...*sigh* so wonderful.

  • I like how Ron was lying. It was hilarious. LMBO.

  • superman is being rasict lol its funny and why are all there pants so tight

  • The guy who played the cop was brilliant! They picked the right actor for that role. He didn't see one against the other he saw what was real! I loved him in this!

  • LOL, Freddie is hilarious

  • This show is AMAZING; both sides of the stories are so jacked up its terrible. But I like the way Ron said that blacks are better in things like basketball, football, and track, not saying that we are, but that is the stereotype that follows us, as if we are not intellectual people, which is no surprise that I LOVED Dewayne's comment. I also like the way they shined the light on the fact that not all white people think like that. This show talks about EVERYTHING. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!

  • Love Freddie "Did our parents march in vain When is this madness going to end" lol

  • "No, I am an educated black man! Your worst nightmare, punk!" LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • "Well, if it isn't the Supremes!"

  • "With or without ketchup? Tell the damn story!" LMAO!

  • Ahhh, the myth of the meritocracy.

Almost 20 years after this aired and white people still think a place at a job or school is automatically *reserved* for them. And if they don't get the job or school they want, then a "quota" kept them out. Couldn'ta been because they just *weren't* the best applicant, noooo, never that.

  • did Ron called them a craker? 2:30

  • yeah he did

  • Man I can relate to what Dwayne Wayne said, as a black woman with a Masters degree, I still get looked at as another n-gger by some, NOT ALL, but some whites. I remember one time, I was at a store looking for a dress for a wedding and the sales woman didn't want to help me, she didn't see a customer, she saw a n-gger. It didn't matter to her that I was educated and spoke intelligently, she just saw me as a n-gger.

  • @honeegrrl,

I feel what ya' saying and it's not right that people get treated like that. People really need to get out of the mentality that they're in. Regardless of race, everyone's blood is red just like the next person's.

  • Yes people are so twisted up in their own ignorance that they don't even have the capability to even look outside the box, let alone think outside the box.

  • This is were I first noticed Dean Cain. And not for playing in Lois n Clark.

  • that police officer is the voice of pumbaa!

  • @GOPJ00 he was also on Perfect Strangers. As larry and that other dudes boss in the first season.

  • A shame that in real life this situation would go a whole different way. Minorities in the us and europe get treated differently by the police.

  • well I for one LLLOOOVVEE " The Game" but I really miss when entertainment had meaningful messages. These days no black shows have a chance unless its a reality show that promotes promiscuity, and women acting and fighting like animals which doesn't help ppl of color look any better. I'm hoping this decade will be different. A Different World was never ashamed of promoting morals which a lot of these kids don't have today..

  • does anyone know what Freddie meant when she way talking about "adaza kent days"?

  • @satoshijr She said the "days of Kent State". It was a massacre of college students by the police. You can google it to find out more information.

  • hey man stop! lol

  • I agree, this show is very influential. The information alone is rewarding. It gives a real taste of the African American culture and it's HBC's. And it's very funny as well!! It's a shame we don't have enough shows like this. Heck we don't have enough African American shows period.

  • where r the shows like this nowadays? I HATE REALITY TV

  • The game is a good show but the should have kept this show on

  • Dwanyne Owns them white boys son!!! I still cant believe that BET took this show off tha air, WTF is wrong with my people today. In my opinion, this was the most powerful black show ever broadcasted on television!!!

  • I agree. A Different World is the most influential show of our time and it talks about what it means to be an African American in the world we live in.

I'm trying to figure out why B.E.T. keeps showing marathons of 'The Game'. They've watered that show down completely...it's not worth looking at anymore.

  • 'No, I am a educated black man, your worst nightmare, punk!'

Daaaamn, Dwayne gettin' ghetto on these fools! Cut at em' Dwayne, cut at em'!

  • @redplaguethe3rd LOL! Exactly! Eff whatchu heard! Dwayne's from BedStuy! Don't let the flips fool! LOL!

  • @redplaguethe3rd I never forgot that quote even years after this episode debut. I try to tell all my young black brothers to stay in school and get your education. Thats the only way to make it in this life.

  • @redplaguethe3rd I don't think he was getting ghetto. He was just being a man letting them know.

  • @mistanderson

As well he should and I feel what ya' sayin. Dwayne stepped to him and said, 'My skin color ain't got nothing to do with my standing in this world. My blood is red like yours.'

  • this was such a good episode lol the double sories were funny but they touched on real issues my best friend in HS was white and he used to tell me so many things that some emphasis on some white ppl say behind closed doors

  • I will never forget this episode. It is such an emotional subject

  • 'thats so attractive how dwayne will beat the crap out of anyone who talks crap about whitley

  • This is hilarious. It also has a great moral behind it.

  • I dont know why they didn't keep this damn good ass positive show on B.E.T. because they want to put dumb boring ass "The Game" instead. It makes me soo mad.

    BET Sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You have a point.

  • i know stupid and dumb unintellectual shows that they give now arent better than nshows like these...

  • @qwandiddy

you know they could have more than one good show. The game is still very positive show, depicting people of color as successful and intelligent. That is my opinion...

B.E.T doesn't suck it just needs a major, MAJOR change.

  • @qwandiddy its now on TV one

  • @qwandiddy yeah it does!

  • @qwandiddy Woah i see what yuh sayin but the game is one of the best shows on B.E.T

  • @00SassyPants Yeah one of the best show to make more Black People Fake, especially Light Skinned Blacks who think they're all that.

  • @qwandiddy People in this generation dont want to watch shows with morals. They want shows with drama. I could watch a marathon of this show

  • This is a deep debate brought with a bit of humour and a lot of sense. Dwayne rules here, and I love the mascot lol

  • Ron was wrong for tricking the guys into the bet, however the guys were wrong for taking it too far with the race thing. Ron meant the comment "maybe you need some more bruthas on your team" as a joke, however I don't blame the white guys for their reactions, because if it had been the other way around, I'd get upset also, but not to the extent where I was spray painting someones car, with a racial slur. In the end everyone was wrong, maybe Dwayne & the blonde guy were a bit innocent.

  • How do you trick someone into a bet like that? If you don't know what the stats are you have bo business betting and it's on you when or if you lose. It wasn't very nice of him, but he wasn't wrong.

  • I understand what you're saying but regardless of that, everyone was wrong in their own way, in the situation no one was completely innocent.

  • Yeah. I agree. That's one of the things the officer was supposed to be showing that Ron can't get mad at them for holding some of the same stereotypical views that he himself holds. Yeah, no one was innocent.

  • i LOVE the white boy version of the story when dwayne pops out all thugged out. CLASSIC!

  • mr pechercheli from tsr=that's so raven

  • Both stories are funny cuz in the white story ron and dwayne are like thugs with gold chains, beepers, hats and hoods. In Ron story Him and dwayne are punks and the white guy with the blond hair even acts tough

  • @Jermith like when Dwayne gets handled by the car. ROFLMFAO

  • I can't take Dean Cain seriously in this role. Its just so obvious when you lookat him that he's not 100% white, lol. (he's part Asian).

  • Yeah, somebody said he was Japanese. I didn't notice that till now.

  • Yees! Thank you for posting this episode...I've been looking all over for it! I loved the quotes that Dwayne used in this episode:

'I'm an educated black man, your worst nightmare, punk!'

  • the white boys version of the story when ron and dwayne came out wit a hoodie n sunglasses is HI-larious!!!!

  • @scadet01 both stories were hilarious! Ron being that polite? ha

  • you can really tell that dwayne loves whitley because how he went to go and beatup that white boy in that cell for talking that way about whitley...i find that very attractive

  • freddie's smoking! i'd do her in a heartbeat!..her frizzy hair is sexy!..

  • .."cracker want a polygraph?"...

  • Dwayne Was Telling The Truth. That No Matter What Black People Do Whites Still Will See Us as Just Another Nigger.

  • That's why I like this episode so much! Dwayne is like, 'yeah, I'm black, but don't look at me as a lazy invalid because of my skin. I'm a hard-working man who has earned his place in society, same as you'.

I still like that line where Dwayne says, 'My grandfather was born here duke...and you people still look at me as just another n**ger.'

  • I love FreDDy especially when she says my brothers my sisters

  • Ernie Sabella (the security guard) is a good character actor, but his aaahhhhccceeennntttt is way over the top. People in Virginia don't have such thick accents. He must have gone to the Jasmine Guy school over overacting.

  • Thanks for uploading this!! I have this on tape. It's funny, 17 years later and these problems are still going on. At least we know times are changing, I hope for the better. Thanks again!

  • GET EM' DEWAYNE!!

  • That's exactly what I yelled when I saw this.

  • Dean Cain's story was hilarious but those guys were getting on my nerves. I don't think there's anything funny about racial ignorance.

  • Ain't that the truth? Some people in this world pride themselves on ignorance, thinking that it's bliss. It isn't...racial ignorance is just a tool that leads to self-destruction.

  • "No, I am an educated black man, you're worst nightmare, punk" Go Dwayne!!!!

  • That's my favorite line what Dwayne said. He definitely had to put those racists Whites in check!

  • Mines too

  • Dean Cain should try more comedic roles more often.

  • the phrase " they dont make like they used too" is used so much today but when talking about ADW its so true . majority of shows "aimed "at black people today are so brain destroying especially relationships between black men and black women there never seems to be a chance happiness together or apart.........man i sound old lol thanks anyway brownsugar956

  • this show was soooo on point!!! I was only 12 when this eppy aired I remember rushing trying to do my homework so that I can watch a different world. I look back on it now that i'm 29 years old mannn this was soo on point

  • i have know idea why there are no shows like this anymore ...logically thinks should be so much better tv wise

  • ITA

  • I agree with your statement somewhat...it depends on the show, writers and whetehr or not the actors are going with that ish. Personally, the only decent AA sitcom shows has been Everybody Hates Chris, The Game and House of Payne. They do show relationships between Black Men/black Women in a relaistic manner..unfortunately, nobody cares or is not supporting them enough. If ADW came out today, it wouldn't last 2 seasons before it gets cancelled for "lack of ratings" or some ish like that.

  • Intresting i agree with most of what you say Everybody Hates Chris is a very good show and one of the few intelligent and positive shows on tv strangley though i think its audience is much more geared too a more white or more mixed audience . ADW i feel was aimed at black audience ,with white people being able too appreciate it too , i think being aired at the right time and right channel ADW might do very well but it would need time too grow , but time is not afforded to shows

  • Is that Dean Cain?? I remember this...I remember I thought their interpertations were hilarious and they still are.

  • me too. i remember watching this episode and trying not to laugh cuz it shouldn't be funny but it is

  • yeah thats him in his first acting role.

  • Its not his first acting role. He's been acting since he was a child.

  • I ment his first big acting role. Anyways thats what he said.

  • GRAND!!!

  • thank u brownsuga keep the vids coming

  • This is one of the best episodes of "A Different World." Thank you for uploading this episode, I've been waiting for this episode on YouTube on long time ago.

  • It's true.
