I just found out today that the "Mr. Jackson" who patrols the halls and makes my friends laugh with his stories and jokes is actually "DEON Jackson", a famous artist from the mid-1900s. Now I feel really humble whenever I talk to him, and it's just so odd and awesome to know that a famous musician walks in our halls...
@TheInventor200 Thanks. We didn't have student supervisors when I was in school so I'm not sure what it menas but it seems from the comments he's getting that he does it well and is loved by the kids. If any of you get the chance tell him he still has lots of fans here!
JUST MISSED!!! "Love Makes The World Go Around" just missed making the Billboard's Hot Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 14 weeks in the Hot Top 100 in 1966!!!!
Just be grateful that you get to be able to have him as your principal. You're so lucky. Cherish that. I've grown up listening to this song and it would be really cool to meet him. One of you give him my regards. From a fellow high school student.
Yep. He works at my school. Wheaton Warrenville South High School in Illinois. He is that man who yells at kids in the halls because they are blocking other people's way. Hahaha.
those were the days wen he was younger. now he just sits nxt 2 me in the piano rooms at WHEATON WARRENVILLE SOUTH n we play any song that comes 2 mind!!!
Songs like this were so VERY important in growing up in the Ohio Valley (Steubenville Ohio). Each and every one of these sensual soul sounds were part of our maturation. I know all who read this and grew up in the early 60's in the Steubenville Ohio are can relate to this. Best wishes to all and I hope you all have the greatest of memories, as do I.
This was my theme song in 7th grade. Yep!..I thought that I was in love...first "REAL" meaningful kiss...to me anyway...from a more experienced girl my age at that!!. Haaaaaaa. Yep,YEP!!!!.
that song do sound like Smokey Robinson & the Miracles singing it they got the sound,Deon Jackson,Barbara Lewis,George Clinton,Gino Washington and others who are non Motown artists and they from Detroit Michigan sound like they from Motown.
Deon Jackson shouldve join Motown it sound like a Motown type of mold What Makes the World Go Round is like a Motown type of clone even known that Deon Jackson is from Ann Arbor Michigan,he would ve topped of f of Marvin,Stevie and Smokey if he wouldve joined Motown
Never heard this great sound sound so great as like it does on this video. Volume is up, I guess. Thanks John1928threeC.. Just beautiful. Mixed feelings about whether someone will redo this in hip-hop style or something really horrible not that that hip-hop wouldn't be a horrorible mix. Usually I joke but not now. Deon got accepted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Songwriters Division. Gonna listen to some Barbara Lewis who wrote most of her great songs and should be in R&R or Soul..
