As to the infant mortality rate - it's higher than non-indigenous infants, but the gap is closing every year. Soon they will be the same. So, yeah, it may not be great compared to the rest of the nation, but the Indigenous infant mortality rate is definitely better now than it was before the English came (as is the rest of the world's since then).
