I loved and admired President Bush for his obvious devotion to our country in spite of the criticism and hate he faced each day. While the American people may not have been kind to you during your service President Bush, I pray history will treat you better.
Time gives perspective. President Obama has, in no less distressing times, NOT attended most of these joint press/government dinners, including the one 2 days ago, sending Clinton instead. President Bush attended, made fun of himself or had Laura do so, with grace and dignity. President Obama attended the WHCD 2009 only, and smirked and laughed at his own jokes- more than those in attendance did--only one joke pointed at himself. Time will tell.

The US is "in the lead" because of Bretton Woods, and the US was the last country to be even on a semi-gold standard - that is how the dollar was established as the world reserve currency.

I can't say I was the biggest fan of him. but he had some good lines, had me laughing pretty hard. I think we forget at times, those of us on BOTH sides of the political spectrum that the people we are electing are just that: People. They make mistakes like the rest of us, but of course, we don't have to worry about idiots (on the other side of the political spectrum than them) [and this goes for Republicans and Democrats] criticizing us for every single mistake we make.

Time gives perspective. President Obama has, in no less distressing times, NOT attended most of these joint press/government dinners, including the one 2 days ago, sending Clinton instead. President Bush attended, made fun of himself or had Laura do so, with grace and dignity. President Obama attended the WHCD 2009 only, and smirked and laughed at his own jokes- more than those in attendance did--only one joke pointed at himself. Time will tell.

The Security Council ruled that Iraq had broken the terms of the truce and was in violation of INTERNATIONAL LAW!
The UN is supposed to UPHOLD international law.

You Don't need to be from the US to be subjected to or interested in American culture enough to be able to pass judgement on any American issue. The issues are the same, its only the faces and the legislative procedure that varies. I do not mean to offend but being from the united states actually has little or no bearing on the validity of your judgement.

Well duh...
The economy numbers is not going to go anywhere but further down for all the forthcoming executive orders. Bush took the surplus from the last admin and put us in trillions of debt with the WAR he declared in last 2002.
The economy is not going recover even in one term of his. He wants to at least cut the deficit in half by the end of his term, that's a long term plan.
