When parents were were allowed to be parents, run the house, and enforce rules with consquences, there was less crime and better, upstanding, members of society. This is the one time he was caught committing an assault. The mother is equally to blame for giving her a few whacks as well and supporting the behaviour. William Adams is not fit to hold a position of judge if he can't judge his own behaviour appropriately and should be sent to jail for the evidence in this video. No investigation necessary, proof is there as well as his admission and witness as seen in video. Judgements of guilty have been handed down with much less evidence than this.

I'm not saying life imprisonment but he needs to pay a price for that kind of abuse which it clearly is. This was way beyond 'disciplining' her. @murrisj1 Methods of punishment appropriated for this would have been, psychological therapy for both the daughter and father, a proper warning, a police record for the father, anger management therapy for the father, The daughter should have informed this in proper time not 6 years later, there is no need to wait 6 years to make a "cooled down" report of abuse, now there is little that can be done, and prison should not be an option.

It's not just the impact of several bruises that results from this, there are far longer reaching effects of his actions that demand a harsher punishment. Although a police record would impact on his standing as a judge, which is positive, by doing nothing when evidence like this exists, what sort of message does that send to the greater community about abusing their children?

They may tolerate this behaviour in Afghanistan but he is a western 'judge' who is meant to know what is 'reasonable' and what is not, he is meant to be able to always make good judgements in his life and others. Therefore, he is expected to be well above the ability to not lose his temper to the point of serious assault against his own child.

Unfortunately Texas doesn't prohibit corporal punishment, either in school or at home. Many of the Southern states don't prohibit it. But what the "Judge" did was wrong, flat out wrong.
