The bomb would blow up like it normally does by hlding it too long. ad no, the quick attack is similar to a jab lock, so they bounce unable to roll or get up attack, and you can't tech footstool anyways. The only way it might be possible to escape this if you have a bomb or if you're somehow able to SDI out in between the uair and the footstool.
I'm able to make 3 different 0 to death CGs with ICs, but if your opponent is quite good... well, you won't cg them all the time. ICs are SO MUCH MORE than cging to death.
Even if you do get Uaired at a high percent, it still works because Pikachu is just footstooling you, canceling your momentum and pushing you onto the ground (you can't tech footstools by the way). And they can't Uair/Nair out of it because of that footstool. So far no escape has been discovered.
can it be rolled out of? i mean if you get footstooled, cant you roll instead of just getting up? of course if the person is link or toon link and happen to have a bomb, that may work
Yes you can roll out of being footstooled. However, Pikachu footstools you leaving you lying on the ground, then quick attacks you before you can move at all. Being attacked in certain ways while lying on the ground forces a get up animation. The bomb exploding would just force that animation as well.
again the bomb may work, i mean what if it goes before the footstool and if it went off, it can hit pika giving a small chance, i cant comfirm, so do you think it in the smallest chance may work?
I suppose. Yes, there is the smallest chance the explosion may be perfectly timed, down to the frame. But what are you going to do? Hold bombs the entire match? This is on the off chance that not only does Pikachu start the infinite at the right time, but that you have a bomb when it happens, which had to have been plucked at the perfect time. Even if you escape, Pikachu can just do it again. I don't see timing bomb pulls throughout the whole match as being practical, or even possible.
ppl thinking it makes the game bad are dumb. It makes the game *interesting*. Basically, don't let a high-level pikachu land this on you at the requisite %s. This is one of a huge variety of subtle situations in which you are at a great disadvantage; so don't fall for it. It doesn't break the game, it just adds a crazy challenge to it -- for both players.
No wonder Brawl gets a lot of shit for stuff like this.
People just don't like non-interactive game mechanics because of the sense of hopeless they instill in the victim. That's why people bitched about Wobbling; it's a non-interactive "combo".
Too bad every single combo in melee I've seen before. Once people found one that worked put it in their book and used it alot, eventually they all started to look the same to me.
wait you guys are missing the point, which is brawl sucks and infinites like this/camping/stalling and over metaknight use are dominant in a game that was intentionally designed not to be competitive. Melee's competitive aspects were completely accidental, and as a result Brawl is on the whole nerfed and completely different than Smash64 to melee. W'e no point ranting, Melee is a much more dynamic game yet I doubt you will acknowledge that. Have fun playing 3 stock matches in 8 minutes!!!!!!!!
lol u said pikaa!

This is nice, but it will have its limits in tournaments since this is an infinite if the Pikachu player can keep it going.

This is going to be very situational to hit, but as Pikachu mainer, this video makes me happy.

Is your claim that "just picking ice climbers" will win you tournaments? If so, how come not everyone is doing it?

its not hard to just NOT get Uaired until higher percents, and some chars can actually Nair/Uair w/e out of it before the quick attack.

Having half a dozen or more death locks, several of which that work on every character, does not make the game more interesting.
