@marinobasic I made my own medicine ball, nifty too. I bought a tire plug tool, pulled out the air plug from a wilson soccer ball, filled with salt (15 containers), and plugged it with the tire plug. Awesome medicine ball I made, pretty too.
The first one he is doing is I do it jumping and throwing the ball on the backboard to simulate shooting close range shots. I'm a college basketball player.
Nice ideas. You could do these exercises with any kind of weight i.e. a dumbbell or weight plate. To add athletic funtional gains in explosion you could release the ball from your hands and thrown it to the ground or in the air. This is the advantage of using a medicine ball as it's designed to be thrown around without damaging the gym or you. Very good for any sport invovling alot of core twisting and full body explosivness, for example baseball, football or MMA.
You thinking far too much like a body builder (which is fine if you actually want to be a body builder). Training for sport and total fitness requires speed and power as demonstrated. We need to get a way from this slow body building stuff seen in the majority of gyms. This is not how the body was meant to work.
The workout at 0:09 secs is the one i would w to do cause I feel it burning me after a few minutes but cant really cause at some point my left leg gets dislocated lol.
its essentially just weight, medicine ball is worth the investment imo, however you can fill an old basketball or something with sand or beans to desired weight and fix it up with duct tape for a cheap one...actually works well.

Hey what's a good weight for a medicine ball if one is a big guy, 260 lbs and 6 feet tall?
PHANTOMSLAYER777 1 year ago

I cut a hole in an old soccer ball, took out the blader. Then filled it with rocks. Duct taped it, and it works great!
