I have two. Herky is my male 235 lbs. And Bailey is my female 185 lbs. I have owned many breeds of dogs but these two are the absolute best tied with a yellow lab, CJ. CJ was great in his own way, not because of his breed. The Mastiffs can't help big be great, they're Matiffs! Nice looking boy!!! Thanks for the video.

I LOVE this breed! Too bad I can't have one, for the time being... I do have an outstanding American Bulldog, though, which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE. I mean,if that dog talked, it would be a person «on 4 wheels». Anyway, trained as a BALANCED guard dog, the English Mastiff must be A TREMENDOUS FOE to all would be, unarmed burglars, lol!

I have a one year old male English Mastiff. I love that guy to death. You don't have to teach them to protect; its in their DNA. My guys super nice, but lets it be known when somethings up. Great dogs for sure!

amazing dogs, my friend has had a few of them, one giant one that reached over 230 lbs. he was enormous and not the slightest bit overweight for his size

they are so gentle and loyal, but also the best guard dog ever!

@420swed420 So they are good guard dogs? Because I plan to get two of them and people make it seem like these dogs are soft. But they were bred to fight in the pits and to be loyal to their owners.

they are better guard dogs then pit bulls, they are definitely not soft dogs, they're super loyal to their masters.. their mouth is big enough to swallow a human head.

just their size is enough to scare off intruders and they can feel that fear from people, they are some of the greatest guard dogs you can get

also not to mention the power behind their bark is like that of a lions growl.

you will feel it in your chest if this dog barks are you.
