  • wooo art's a pretty boring thing in your world!

  • Truly amazing work! I feel absolutely enchanted by his works.

  • beautiful projects, pieces like these shows how creative humans can be with a simple thing like glass and some colour. Personally I would love to go to this garden in person, on shrooms, to be able to expirience these in the way I'd imagine they were percieved, along with the same soundtrack as I walk along, it would be a breath taking expirience.

  • man made pollution...

  • The way Chihuly designs in glass I feel like I'm seeing the fantasy gardens of a child's imagination. And it's absolutely wonderful to see the world looking the way every child wishes it really would. You kind of think "I remember this place" but you know that place was never real.

  • His work is so surreal, its like you've fallen down the rabbits hole and right into wonderland.

  • My favorite living artist in the whole world. I've been collecting his books for a very long time. As expensive as they are I still don't have a piece of his work.... Palm Springs Airport has a display... I was in heaven! Did you see his work in Venice? Blimey!

  • I saw the documentary on the Venice project. I priced some of his work in San Francisco a couple of years ago. Way out of my budget.

  • Yeah, I stick to his books and drool. His books are expensive enough lol

  • the clam like one, wasnt there one in the tv series 'Frasier' possibly by the same artist :)

  • thats really quite something :)

excellent choise of music,i have a sall glass flower inside a block, but i have hidden it from view for the moment :)

  • It looks very peaceful there. That is one talented glass blower.

  • I am not well adversed in the arts, but I know when something is moving me and reaching me on several levels.

    This was beautiful.

  • Hmm, glass art isn't really my scene. But you made it interesting Phil, as you often do. Hard to top the Neon City video, though :)

I do know that blowing glass is a *painfully* difficult discipline, so I can appreciate the care that went into making them.

    Cheers.

  • Fantastic!

  • That is beautiful! The color contrasts are awesome, and all the curly forms! I liked it, it would be nice to have some of that in my gardens!

    3:28, 4:18, 4:31 are my favorites!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • His stuff is pretty cool. He had an exhibition at our museum. Kinda pricey, though. Good post! :)

  • Phil I don't like Dale Chihuly. His pieces look like they belong in hotel lobbies... which isn't a bad thing - it's just not my thing. It's a bit crafty to me. Not sure what it says about life today. Maybe if he was using newer materials. I liked your video of Chihuly better than Chuihuly.

  • holy crap that guy is amazing. you know what i find fascinating? graffiti art.

  • wow!

  • He is truly a great blown glass artist. I've often wondered how he lost his eye....anyone know - he wears a black eye patch.

  • stunning

  • Very beautiful. I have never been to the New York Botanical. I have only gone to the Brooklyn botanical. Thank you Phil.

  • Great stuff Phil. I've seen his work at the Bellagio in Vegas and perhaps (either his or a good imitation) at a hospital just south of Vegas = maybe it's in the city, but in a residential section. This was different though = the stuff floating in the water, the stuff coming up out of rocks or sand. The bowls! Wow. I also loved the reflections that you caught and shared with us. Good stuff! Thank you.

  • I'm mezmerized by Chihuly's hanging pieces. Have you seen the documentary called, "Chihuly Over Venice"? Amazing glass art hanging over the canals of Venice and the work that went into them. On Monday I visited an art gallery in Stockbridge MA that sells Chihuly's work. One can purchase a large bowl for $46,000 + if one can afford it.

  • Thanks for posting Chihuly's art. I've been a fan of his since I saw one of his exhibits in Columbus, Ohio in the 1990's. He's also a fellow American of Slovak descent, as am I...not too many famous Slovak Americans around! Thanks again, Phil!

  • Chihuly is AMAZING!! His art truely speaks to my heart!! I favorited this so I can watch it again and again!! Thanks so much for sharing this with us! Blessings, Grams

  • a gentle, quizzical babbling for sure...

Well Done and very enjoyable. Bravo.

Art generating art like an Ode on a Grecian Urn.

What a blessing to see beauty everywhere.

  • That was really pretty. I'm always amazed at what people are able to do. He had an exhibit down here in Knoxville one year and I didn't make it to see it. I wish I had. Thanks for putting this up, enjoyed it very much.

  • My second viewing. Truly great video!

  • Nice edit/camerawork Phil. Thx for sharing.

  • Beautiful video!

  • visually stunning. Loved the way you paired it with the music selection.Never heard of him before but amazing how the art became part of the nature. wow.

  • beautiful!

  • Wow, that was great! Thanks for filming and showing!

  • I love your video, but hate Dale Chihuly. I call him "the Buzby Berkeley of modern glass". He has an incredible staff and PR machine, but his work lacks form and distinction.

  • Phil, thank you SO MUCH for introducing this artist's work to me! I love art like this. His pieces fit so beautifully with the surrounding plants. Can't even imagine how he makes some of them, especially the large bowl shapes with the two-toned inner and outer colors. Awesome!

  • I've seen exhibits of his stuff...it's AMAZING!!

  • all in all I ended up watching this video about 5-6 times and it never got old. Everytime I watched it, there was something new. Is this exhibit permenant or for a limited time?

  • Just beautiful!!! I love the way he integrates his art with nature.

  • Mesmerizing art.

  • Five Stars!!

  • I doubt art is any longer possible in America. What you have instead is various forms of aesthetic entrepreneurship - producing kitsch for the materially rich and morally poor. Lovely video! :)

  • lovely rendering of images and sounds together. I'd not heard of Dale Chihuly before but I think I'll be looking into his work, as well as that of Kevin MacLeod. Thanks for another great video :)

  • Chihuly showed in Reading a few years back, I was lucky to review the show and ask the artist a few questions, remarkable work, thanks for showing, this is a considerably larger exhibit.

  • I saw this exhibit, it was breath taking as is this video.

  • that was Really nice almost as beautiful as nature

  • amazing, thanks for sharing

  • I went to a chihuly exhibit in Vegas. I so love his work.
