To all GY6 vehicle owners. My 150cc GY6 scooter started nice, idled nice and ran nice until I reached about 40mph. Then it started to misfire.
I changed my valve spring, set the valve gaps right and tight, and checked the fuel pump, fuel filter and as many things as I could think of. Still it would misfire at higher speeds/rpms.
Finally a guy suggested checking the wire connections on the coil. I did and low and behold, it was loose. I snugged it up and now my scooter runs GREAT!
Im using someone else sign in.....You know people go to school to learn how to repair scooter and your just taking their job (money) away....my b/f is a mechanic and now i cant pay my bill and am getting evitcited because of people like YOU!!!!!!!! KARMA COMES BACK AROUND TEN FOLD.....BUTTHEAD....you should of made this a pay site....thanks alot hope you can sleep warm at night cause my children and i CANT........THANKS ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
@greenedward Hahaha...people like you crack me up. Your issue with being evicted is your own deal, and the last person you should be blaming is some random guy on youtube. (a free site, by the way) I'm a motorcycle mechanic myself, so don't go off all half-cocked on me either. Videos like this help people, maybe your boyfriend should learn from them. I wonder if you call a handyman every time a light bulb goes out in your house. Oh, you don't? My point exactly.
@roboticdolphin 10yr mechanic here LMFAO. Maybe if she had a job and didnt spend time on youtube with BS comments then she might not have been evicted. hahaha
adjust at top dead center on the compression stroke, you'll know your at TDC because both valves will be fully closed and the timing mark should be pointing away from the engine on the cam sprocket.
can't you just adjust it to top dead center so you can adjust both the exhaust and intake valves instead of just doing one at a time with your method?
@EshenbaughRacing valves get tight over time from valve wear ,,,,are you a mechanic ?causing the valve to go into head and thus gets tight and can remain open if not adjusted
Hey! I have a huge question. I disassembled my scooter the other day and I just want the motor. Its a 4 stroke motor. I have NO idea about motors. The question is: how do i get it to start? Do I need the battery to get it working? Or can I just use the kick and it will start after some time? I’ll send a link of my engine on mail if some one wants to see what I’m talking about. @peer91 Yes its a four stroke. Anything with OVH Or OVER HEAD VALVES is a four stroke. And no you need to Connect the CDI for it to run. Any other Questions?

Do I nee a special tool to change the valve springs in a GY6?
Hooverdarnit 4 months ago
what is the difference if you depress the exhaust and adjust the intake and vice versa? as opposed to having both depressed with no cam lobe action?

Valves get loose over time not tight.

Not true on a GY6 engine.
They get tight over time.
