removing the cat will add about 1-2hp since you have a straight pipe you have less restriction which will gain more hp. If you have a CAI more air will be able to go through engine and out of car because of your exhaust. So possibly 15 to 20 hp gain. possibly more

Nah Got a Cherry Bomb muffler, i was thinking about cutting it to a straight pipe when spring comes around. Im probably only going to have the car for another 6 months. then ill get a ion redline or cobalt ss
theres a video on youtube with a malibu straightpipe and it doesnt sound too good so i wouldn't recomend it. I like the flowmaster sound. I bet cherrybomb sounds good too.

My 00 Malibu has no cat... its straight pipe with a magnaflow 40 series.. sounds pretty good, how many hp u think i gained there ?
